The 2012 season. Jeff Gordon on his roof for the first time and only time. Danica Patrick's most brutal crash of her career. The Montoya Jet Dryer incident after Montoya's car breaks when sparks was shown from behind the car. Bad vibration in every gear means the transmission shattered instantly. Matt Kenseth in his last year for Roush Fenway Racing, the Springate incident with Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Jr finally breaking his winless drought racing for Hendrick Motorsports, and Brad Keselowski winning the championship, and the last championship win for Dodge as well as winning at Talladega for Dodge after a 36-year dry spell.
probably the worst 500 in the sport's history, everything that came after the montoya crash was a complete disregard for driver safety. not to mention the idiotic shenaniganry of putting the 500 AFTER president's day. could've avoided this shitshow completely.
@@NolanRempel racing the final 40 laps despite it being like 2 am and the track having visible burn marks (for reference: the 2010 daytona 500 had to be red-flagged twice for ONE hole in the track)
Fitting that the week Montoya comes back to NASCAR you post this. I didn’t witness that Jet Dryer moment when it happened but when I found out about it a year or so later it was definitely one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen. Montoya was literally in the worst possible place for his suspension to break.
@@e93sports80 Perhaos, once everything is caught up on this side, though for now I’m not looking to add to the project load. If you know playlists where I can find seasons worth of races, feel free to post and I’ll add it for later!
I didn't think this was coming that quick. But back then the Nationwide series two car tandems at Daytona and Talladega still sucked. But man, James Buescher made it through that wreck.
