Welcome to Art & Outdoor Life with John. I paint for a hobby & to help deal with my Anxiety, Depression & PTSD. I hope to share my art in different places one day and along the way to inspire others. I started painting April 21 2022. I learn every time I paint and I share my experiences here as I grow. Outdoor life will be shared here as well. Thank you for your support.
Nice video! Do you think we will be able to hear you play your violin in any future videos? This is just an idea, but it may be cool to do a music related painting sometime too! Keep up the cool content and stay blessed👍
Thank you! I’m so new at the Violin I highly doubt I’ll be playing it in any video. I’ve been thinking about a music related video for awhile I’m just not sure. I truly appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. Sincerely, John.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’" Hebrews 13:5 Always a great Bible verse to remember. God made you unique and special, John. Be encouraged👍
Interesting how you use watercolor like oils. As an oil painter trying to find a way into watercolor this was an eye opener! Great stuff and thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I’m not schooled and I started out painting so many watercolors that I often forget when I show up to paint that it’s not watercolor. Keep on Painting!!
I love when a painting makes you want to be there. I really enjoyed this one. It feels like a calm, almost magical place. I only came across your channel, so I have more to watch!
Thank you. I really wasn’t thinking about taking video here, I only took this which was the beginning. The day ended up being packed and all the vendor sites were full. I really had a good time.
Don't give up. I have been painting for over 20 years and still have pictures that don't work out. I can only pass on the information I got from a friend, which is, try lots of different subjects and do something as often as you can, even if it is only a small sketch. Well done and keep going.
Good video. I would add blue to black to make however you can make nice darks using burnt sienna, ult blue and alizarin crimson and you won’t even need Payne’s grey on those
Having a bad day today and stumbled across this video when I was looking for something comforting to watch. It helped calm me down, so thank you for sharing <3
I’m sorry your day wasn’t going so well. Things will get better. If you’ve never seen Joe Menza Art he has some wonderful paintings. I appreciate your input. Sending positive vibes. John
Cool video John! I believe I was around your 25th or so subscriber, and I can easily tell how much you’ve improved artistically since I first started watching your channel. Never give up man, keep on keeping on. Be encouraged and keep up the good work👍
Thank you so so much. I gratefully appreciate it more than you know. Some times I have to remind myself why I post videos of myself painting to the public. It’s all about inspiring others and trying to reach out to others to give hope and inspiration and positive thoughts and energy.
John good video. Don’t let the negative comments get you down. And when people are starting out copying is a good learning tool. Keep on painting! 🖼️ When I started out people said I painted like others too. It’s only natural since I got you started! I’m glad you’re enjoying this wonderful hobby!
John, I remember you mentioning that you wanted to start Plein Air painting videos again, and I thought, wouldn’t it make for a cool video if you did a Plein Air painting video during the upcoming eclipse? What are your thoughts?
I've started painting , I can't do much else to pass the time now. Played the guitar for many years, its the same therapy. Its the losing yourself in tone and colour. That time has been well spent. Helping , soothing. Tears and desperation left on the canvas, through the strings and away, far away if only for a moment. Thank you for the why.
nice video! i found the background music abit distracting from your voice/ artwork unfortunately, maybe try without or quieter because ur content is good!
It is. Even when the composition isn't museum worthy. I was playing with really crappy watercolors on really crappy paper but had a blast. All fodder for future collages 🤷
I’m still painting with the budget friendly paint and paper. Nothing wrong with that unless someone is paying you a million bucks lol! It’s all about the experience , personal moments and creativity
