My name is Sarah Hardin, and I am a 35 year old abstract fluid artist, located in Kansas City, Missouri (U.S.) I've always been artistic, but have been doing this particular medium (fluid art) since March of 2021.
This is my art channel where you can find creation videos of my paintings, tutorials, and anything else related to my art. There is also LOTS of important information as well as helpful tips & tricks sprinkled throughout each one of my videos. I look forward to growing my channel and sharing my artistic journey with the world. I hope you like my videos and maybe even get something out of them, whether it's useful knowledge or just a dose of positivity. (I promise that they'll only get better and better!) I also LOVE interacting with my viewers and receiving feedback in the comments! Thank you for checking out my channel & PLEASE make sure to "SUBSCRIBE" if you like what you see! ♥︎
That's a great question! I achieve this by NOT pouring the resin straight from the cup onto the fire glass. Pouring it on heavy like that will make your glass lose not only its shape but also its sparkle. INSTEAD, I use a stir stick to drizzle the resin over the fire glass. I drizzle it in kind of a crisscross pattern, which helps make sure the resin touches all the glass. (I demonstrate this in the video at 05:12) **As long as each piece of glass touches resin that is touching either another piece of glass or the canvas itself, then it will be secure.
OMG!!! I cannot believe how much attention to detail you show in this piece of art. It really shows, though. It is gorgeous! I do have a question, though. With all of that glass and resin, your canvas must be very heavy. Did you do anything to strengthen it?
Your comment makes me so happy! thank you!! ☺️ And It's 10 pounds! (10.2 to be exact) lol. I sprayed the back of the canvas with water before I began, which makes the canvas as tight as a drum, but that's it.
Amazing I enjoyed the first video as well. I've seen a lot of lighting done With geodes but never this way! I have a bunch of those lights for my swimming pool, but never use them. Maybe I should use them in this way. Wow thanks for sharing
Actually, no. Very little paint gets "wasted" because once the run-off paint dries, I peel it off and use it to make pendant necklaces and stuff. Any of the paint that doesn't get reused though, I still don't consider it a "waste" because it's just part of the process.
@@FluidExpressions I'm glad you upcycle as much as u can!! That makes ur pieces AND Pendants much more beautiful 😍 thank you for sharing your God given gifts with us 💙💚💛
You have wasted materials with every medium. I use mainly watercolor and gouache and a big part of the paint I mixed is just wash away from the palette at the end... I make no waste with digital but the process of creating the materials is way more polluting...
Hi Sarah! I think you've done a fantastic job, even though some things worked against you. I think it's so gorgeous, especially those beautiful bloom flowers and colours along the bottom! I'll look forward to part two. Take care! 😃🐨🙋♀️🦘❤️👍
I love your tips, detailed instructions and the way you filmed the process, but GAWD that audio is annoying as hell. I literally have to mute my TV to be able to tolerate watching it.
@FluidExpressions just something to consider- are you making your videos for yourself or for the viewers? There's science behind music and how different styles impact the brain and learning. That style of music is just very contrary to what a viewer is trying to do while watching, which is pay attention to details, focus, relax and learn. I look forward to future videos with more thoughtfully-chosen music, as your videos are well done, otherwise.
Hi, I have only just found your chanel, and have subscribed. Hope I'm not too late for a quick question....do you re-inforce your canvases on the back to make it more solid and level? And if so, how? This art piece is gorgeous!!❤❤
I sprayed the back with water before I began to tighten up the canvas, but that was all. Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have!
This is so dope!!! I’m starting my channel next because this haha I have done already countless amounts of pours but now I’m saying eff it and gonna staff uploading them all
Thank you. I got my swiping tool at Walmart in the automotive section. It comes in a 3-pack with 3 different-sized ones and they're called "Bondo Spreaders".
Thanks so much for sharing such brutal honesty…. It certainly helped me… knowing I’m not alone! You have a new subscriber! Much love from Nat. (Brisbane, Australia) ♥️♥️🇦🇺
Titanium Dioxide isn't clumpy. The lumps just happen when mixing it with the part 1 resin. Pigment powders are already an extremely fine powder, so sifting it would be pointless.
This is such a beautiful piece. Must be heavy with all those coats of resin. Looks so realistic like the water is washing up on a rocky shore! Great job. Love from NB Canada!
I got my FX Acrylics from Hobby Lobby, but they recently discontinued them for some reason. But thankfully when I was in there one day and saw that they'd put clearance price stickers on all of them, I had a feeling that that was why and made sure to stock up on all of my favorite colors just in case. So I'm not gonna run out for a long time! Lol
