Someone commented a Philodendron Glorious and a Splendid and I think those are correct. The variegated one is an Epipremnum Albo and the rest were as I thought! I will give more details in the next video. Thanks for watching 😊
Love seeing all the updates. Your Forgettii and Forgettii hybrids are really showing out. That Mag/GiGi new leaf is so dark! I gotta believe it was actually a Mag Verde they crossed that with. You said the new light setup was approx 100w total of LED/grow lights... which at first glance seems like a lot more... But what was the total watts you were giving them before? Because I have a feeling that it's not much more than 20 to 30watts difference. I'm thinking it's just better distributed.
The lighting before that was about half of what they get now. I didn't have the light in the center only the lights on the left and right sides so adding the LED light upped the game sooo much. The Sanzi light is the same wattage as the previous light but the spread is different. That center light was a game changer
If u have limited source of light, u might want to consider rearranging the placement of ur plants. Monsteras & philodendrons at the center, followed by prayer plants, begonias, at the outer edge would be the anthuriums. But u need to see how far is the outer edge to the center.
@@OrdinaryPlantGirl as long as the footcandle is enough, it's about arranging the plants according to their light tolerance. If u put ur anthuriums at the center n philo at the edge, ur philo will suffer, but if u but ur philo at center n anthuriums at edge, both will survive. Ofc to get both to thrive, get higher watt lights or get more sources of light, but if u have LIMITED source, this would be a strategy until u get more.
@@OrdinaryPlantGirl Since u have a light meter, for every light source, mark the center n go outwards n mark the last edge that u think u want to place a plant, n arrange accordingly. Bear in mind that height to the light source is also a factor. Think 3D instead of a straight line. Hope this helps.
Love the update, longer video, and 'almost' spring 2024 plant tour. The #anthuriumforgetii, Forgetii x #Pinkleyi hybrid, and #philondendrongloriosum. are gorgeous. Glad to see the bigger growth on your OG #amazonplants family. If I had any suggestions it would be the 15w LEDs replacing the 10w #sansi #growlights. That should boost the #monsteradeliciosa, #thaiconstellation and Congos at 100+ foot candles. Switch placement of your #anthurium Backerii and Besseae aff. And maybe give the KOS a little more light. I know you're pretending to ignore it so it'll surprise you.😂 I'm sure it'll love you soon.😊
I hope so. I moved the Besseae aff up a bit closer to the light. Left the Bakerii where it is because the growth has gotten better and the leaves are up sizing. I'm still debating switching the lights because I think the 15w light might be better in the Anthurium corner for the KOS and those plants there. I think they need the boost more.
You may need to create a green wall. It doesn't have to be elaborate just some rectangular boxes lined with pond liner to keep water from dripping and just sit nursery pots down in the boxes and place peebles or something along that line and water the plants in place and the water below the pebbles level will help create humidity
I might look into that. I have a large rectangular planter that could hold multiple plants and enough cedar trim or plywood to build a wall and then it's portable too 🤔 hmmm now you've got me thinking. Thanks for the idea!!!
Only one #philodendron ? Doesn't he know you're a #philo girl? Gotta admit though... that's one impressive strappy Philo. Actually I'm impressed by all of them...and especially the care that #Tropicals takes in making sure the roots come in the best possible condition and the packaging is well protected. I love eclectic unique #anthuriums so the Silver Peru is one I'll be keeping an eye on. The 'super narrow' 👑 has to do with the narrowness of the abs and not the leaf itself. Speaking of narrow...that baby Pallidaflorum!
Hello ordinary plant girl would it be possible to get an update on Larry and all the other black Cardinals Rojos...... I bet after growing them for 3 years they are amazing now
It's interesting how much difference replacing just one #sansi 10w bulb with a 20w LED bulb made. I noticed you commented on how hot the Sansi bulb was... It would be interesting to know how warm/hot they each get after being on a couple of hours. I often hear about bleaching of plants that get too close...but I contend they're more likely getting burned. I'm so disappointed in the bulb that was damaged/flickering because it was the closest to #Soltech bulb it could find.
So far I have checked the heat of the bulbs and I'll put that in the update. I can say that there is almost an immediate difference in growth for sure which makes sense with the increased light in general. I've moved some Anthuriums so I'm really interested to see the difference there.
M💚NSTERAS!!! I WILL BE HUNTING F💚R A M💚NSTERA SUBPINNATA...SO THANK Y💚U F💚R THE INTR💚DUCTI💚N!!! I Was Checking For It And One Of The Sellers Referred To It As A Terrarium Plant Meaning: IT LIKES A HUMID H💚ME, RIGHT???
Awe thanks! It deals with ambient humidity very well just like Monstera's but I bet if you increased it the growth would be amazing! Definitely not a terrarium plant lol
I wanted to say...what about your Decursiva but technically it's a #rhaphidoradecursiva and not a #monstera. I think the #monsteraperu is root rot diva and it would also vine with smaller leaves or no leaves at all...ala the Decursiva. It's hard to be a #plantlover and not have a #deliciosa or #thaiconstellation. The one thing I've learned about my #thaicon is the larger the #variegation the more #indirectlight it needs. Mine lives in a window all year round. Anyways, you've got me researching other Monstersas...
Since I found out how many there are I have been looking at them too. I'm wondering what can be found and obtained some of them are very interesting looking that's for sure.
It seems that I'm not meant to be a #fuzzypetiole #plantparent or for that matter a #philodendron #plantdad either. I recently lost my #philodendronsqamiferum to cold damage...and also my #philodendronverrucosum is now a butt cut #propagation. Sadly, I'm down to less than 😢 45 plants other than my #anthurium #plantcollection. I did recent add an OG favorite of yours...#philodendronblackcardinal, after losing my ring of fire and golden violin in the same cold damage. Anyways... looking forward to your continued #plantjourney and #plantrepots and new #plantprojects
That's a lot of hashtags lol. Yes I have to say that even though I love philodendrons they don't all love me! I've given up on quite a few because in truth not all of them are "easy" even the common ones. I'll keep trying though with the ones that I'm determined to crack the code of. Thanks for hanging in there with me 😊
I tried twice with the Melo, three times if you count attempting to propagate them. I give up but you never know it could grow for you if you ever decide to give it a go! Some people have managed to grow them, I'm just not one of them lol
This video was so helpful to me! Costco Trader Joe’s and Wegmans are all selling these interchangeably for $10-20! I had no idea how to tell them apart, and now I at least know what my red Congo is and the imperial red. Many thanks even years later than you made this.
Anthurium updates. Love it. You've got a lot of growth joy to look forward to in the next couple of weeks. People say Crystals are easy...but I beg to differ. I'm so jealous of your Mag right now...my last 2 leaves decapitated from very low winter humidity.😢. I seem to be having the same curling and splitting leaves. With the weather breaking and more humidity in the air... I'm seeing less emergent leaf damage. Love the MagxGigi... your's is dominant Gigi. Your Vag Lux #1 is much different than the others I've seen from North Shore. Love them both...but that dark one is 🔥. The CrystalxForgetii has that classic Forgettii growth pattern... Carla's also grow like that too. And you gotta love the dark fused sinus. I'm here for the KOS pics. As for the lighting...what I've noticed is that anthurium leaves actually get darker with increased indirect light. It's when they get too close to a bulb that the heat from the bulb bleaches and burns them. Maybe you can do a future grow light video on that. Maybe swap your duplicates from grow light to the window and see if they change in color.
That's a good idea except for the Vag Lux's mostly because I want to continue to see if #1 keeps those round chubby leaves and #2 stays more elongated. I have other duplicates I can do that with though including Mag x Papi and Forgetii x Lux. Spring is almost here though so that means possibly some new ones to the family especially if I can find an Ace of Spades 😉
I hope so! They definitely like cooler temps at least in my house. Even the low humidity didn't do too much damage but I'm excited to see what happens this year as they become more mature.
Never heard of the green apple Congo, mines pretty big too, but it’s got yellow dots forming on all my leaves, I’ve sprayed with antifungal and antibacterial spray but it may just be Adema from overwatering, no idea Nice collection ❤
Thank you! It could be a fungal issue or extra floral nectaries burning the leaves. Mine don't do it as much and my Florida Ghost does but I get the yellow dots too sometimes.
@@OrdinaryPlantGirl I heard a bit of baking soda in your mister helps as a fungicide. I’m going to try it. Now I’m gonna check my Congo for the floral nectaries! They’re quite obvious on my Joepii but I’ve never noticed on my Congo!
Need more light. I use Mirrors to add more light. I have mirrors behind plants and on the floor too. What amazing, is seeing the plant from the back. 🪴Happy Planting🌿
Lighting in that room is something I'll have to work on but as Spring and Summer come along it will be much brighter in there. If I'm still in this space my Fall more light will need to happen. Thanks for watching ☺️
Fair point. I will try to keep in mind that not everyone will know what I'm talking about when I refer to pests such as thrips and that beneficial mites can help treat those pests or anything else that might not be commonly known to people that are new to the hobby.
Beautiful plants Steph! Love your Congo philodendrons - I was recently able to find a plant labeled Imperial Green although it looks just like a Congo. Love your Agloenema! Stunning. I really love my Florida Green which grows like a weed lol.
Steph beautiful plants, that epi is wow!!! I have a Congo too, takes up way too much room in the bedroom , but it makes a statement. I do so enjoy your laid back , down to earth Canadian content ❤
Hi Just watched your video!. Great info! i purchased a Rojo congo at Lowes probably and if now think its an Imperial Red Thanks so much! And I love mine
I did not like seeing the inserted pictures of your plants. Would hv liked to see them live instead. Prefer to see actual plants on a plant channel…hopefully, in your next video.
Those are some great finds! Love how splashy the hoya is, and summer glory has been intriguing me lately, I love the one you got. Live sales are really cool to me. It's just something I never knew went on before getting into plants. Thought that all died with the shopping channels and cable TV 💀 but if I'm shopping online, I'd most likely go with a live sale
I never saw that plant before. It has made the wishlist because that looks like it can be a serious beauty. Sidebar: Where did you get those little round glasses from? They are too cute.
it is definitely a different take on a Syngonium! I purchased the little glass cups from a Dollar Store, I think they are meant to be tealight candle holders. I thought i might have Hoya cuttings that would look cute in them.

@@OrdinaryPlantGirlThank you and great choice. I will take my chances to see if I find them.
