Self taught from Sun Lu Tang's Bagua Manual here: brennantranslation.wordpress.com/2015/04/30/the-bagua-manual-of-sun-lutang/
When learning from Sun's book forget everything you think you know about Baguazhang or other martial arts, I plan to write a commentary and make instructional videos and videos on the intersection of spirituality and science.
I love the novel shit I come up with every single time I make a video, its incredible what you can extrapolate Cheng's changes into, I recommend Sun Lu Tang's Bagua Manual, links in the channel description
This camera angle does not do the ground's difficulty justice, the dips around the trunks of the trees are 1-2 feet deep, my entire lower leg felt the strain of the changing and varied elevations, don't try with weak ankles or tendons for your weight.
About 0.3% to 0.7% of people are diagnosed with schizophrenia during their lifetime. In 2017, there were an estimated 1.1 million new cases and in 2022 a total of 24 million cases globally. Males are more often affected and on average have an earlier onset than females. The causes of schizophrenia may include genetic and environmental factors. Genetic factors include a variety of common and rare genetic variants. Possible environmental factors include being raised in a city, childhood adversity, cannabis use during adolescence, infections, the age of a person's mother or father, and poor nutrition during pregnancy.
Meh, I'm too old to have that, its a genetic disorder manifesting in one's twenties. Furthermore the average IQ for a schizophrenic is 80, mine is more like 180, ask any of the professors in either of the PhD programs I've been in about me. However it is possible to mentally brutalize someone until they have psychotic symptoms but they are temporary and will attenuate if left alone. I somaticized much of the trauma of the abuse in my recent divorce into walking barefoot, which happened to transform my martial skill and meditative ability in unexpected ways. In this and through other techniques I was able to shield my mind and remain unharmed if 100% weirder than I already was. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3825661/
The tree branch the guy is messing with fell out of the tree just a minute before while I was meditating and facing that direction, it was surreal to see it fall without causation, nearly missed an old woman too! I was deep in body meditation and the branch did not make a sound as it fell or before, but on landing yes but I had noted it by then so was observation, for those who wonder about the unobserved tree falling in a forest.
@@freestylebagua yeah, about 4 decades ago when I started in kung fu one of the elder students would say that style was just a forms school and the teacher would make up seminar forms just to make cash. I didn’t want to believe him but later found out that everything he said was true. You don’t have to believe me but I’m not going to lie and say it’s great when it’s not. But you make that decision. I’m just giving my experienced opinion.
@@GooseGander Well I can see from your channel that you know quite a bit. However I don't have a teacher, and I don't have a form, I freestyle my baguazhang which is essentially the changes from Sun Lu Tang's 1916 bagua manual. So really you don't know me, and I don't think you know anything about baguazhang either. You probably know as much as you reveal on your channel and nothing else.
Some videos are better than others, remember this isn't a performance. My videos are not rehearsed, its freestyled different every time. Its just my daily practice and I'm playing around with innovations and experimenting and learning. That is how I got better than everyone else.
Some fa jin at @14:57 towards the camera and then a few seconds later down low, normally I don't show any of my power but someone was walking behind the camera checking me out so I showed off.
I disagree, never straighten any knees, my stance is perfect because its living, I can move in any direction because I'm not overcommitted. Sometimes I take small steps, sometimes I take bigger steps, but even then I don't straighten the knee which is wrong.
As for focus on the Dan Tian, I'm so far past that it is funny. I feel the chi out to every toe and fingertip. Maybe you should find a better teacher, so you can understand what real baguazhang looks like.
You know when the new moderator of baguazhang group on Facebook throws you out because you learned from a book that you must doing it more right than the lineage people. Eat your heart out, they'll never be as good as I and I'm improving daily still.
Willfully ignorant is no way to go through life. Maybe think about some introspection sometime if you're able. Having the choreography of the forms without the body method or how to make it work is NOTHING. Good luck with that.
@@shawn6669 if you can’t see what I’m doing then you’re the one who is blind, who is ignorant. I can see by your content here how much you know about Baguazhang.
@@freestylebagua HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I'd be offended but you're such a sad piece of work that all i've got for ya is pity......and, of course, the laughter. Don't quit your day job. Cheers! S.
There are a lot more than 182, but there are 182 Freestyle Baguazhang entitled videos, the name I now use to describe my version of the art, but really it is simply Sun Lu Tang's Bagua manual
This was mostly blinded by the hat, which I enjoyed very much. The meditation aspect of the practice really came through later on, with an amazing feeling of what would be an energy body pervading the physical during the changes provided postural details were aligned correctly, down to my fingertips and out to each toe.
This one was done essentially blind, I cannot really see out of that hood except peripherally down, it was interesting to rely on my totality of awareness mostly absent of sight.
