This is just head and shoulders above all the other Asian dramas I've watched in the past 20 years (watching since F4 graced our TVs here in the Philippines!). It transcends origin (Korean vs. Taiwanese), genre (comedy vs. drama), and even plot/narrative though I would not say it has everything story-wise. I guess it boils down to a few things: first, the actors' performances of their roles. Greg Hsu, Alice Ke, and Patrick Shih--what a privilege for us the audience to see your characters fully come alive in this show. Especially Greg Hsu. What an awesome and unforgettable performance. His is the kind of performance that will make you forget that you are just watching a fictional drama. Second, the execution of the story. It could be so complicated and twisty but I can say there was grace in handling all the different timelines and POVs, and the actors were able to deliver nuance or consistency, depending on what time they were in and what character development was demanded from them. Lastly, the music. I should say that the *score* was somewhat too pervasive in many scenes across the series, but the soundtrack, especially the time-travel song, Last Dance. The more the story progresses the more it hits like a dagger in the heart. I never expected I will be so wowed by this. S-tier drama for me.
