one of the reasons that "upstate" new york has a dearth of population is the socialist government of the state has taxed and constricted with regulations the life out of manufaturing and agriculture. both of which were formerly second to none thusly retirees and the young leave for greener pastures . the natural beauty is wonderful, but if one needs a job not so much.
This is the only clarification I will leave. In the Caribbean, the French and English colonizers left countries completely inhabited by blacks, while the Spanish colonizers left countries mixed with Mestizos, Mulattos, Whites, Blacks and Indigenous people because Spain came to live, not just to plunder. The other clarifications will be revealed when you read a book from a reliable source. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32 ❤️
This video has so many inconsistencies that I would not like to debate any, I invite you to read a Dominican history book. Don't trust possible distorted truths on the internet, look for a physical book from a reliable source. ❤️
The accent of the AI is awful, no English or Irish man would pronounce words like you do, also when you mention Dublin then put up a picture of a random cliff you really should have had a picture of Dublin city. this entire thing was so laughably bad I wonder if it was produced entirely by AI?
The US looks a Cyberpunk 2077 like dystopia compared to Norway. It boggles my mind to see how a government can be so thoughtful, fair and good to their people. Man I’m jealous.
FYI> there is no red sea in somaliland. there is the gulf of aden (formerly known as the gulf of berbera) red sea is in egypt, eritrea, and parts of djibouti. a lot of pplconfuse this geography thing, lol. greetings from Hargeysa, SL
i love that we are getting even richer. Dont know why, maybe the Norwegian in me, I feel an inner udge to control more and more than we do. Glad we are currently controlling 1.5%of all the stock market, hopefully much more in a couple decades. 15 % ownership of the stockmarket in 2050 should be the goal. Not that of a streach
This is my personal opinion. Norway had all possibilities to be a wealthy and prosperous country, BUT we have a horrible and disastrous present and future government who have no interest of keeping norwegian wealth and resources to the benefit of Norway and norwegian citizens. They squader it away on foreign economic interest to solve a non existing problem, which they say is climate. But that is OK because there is no future after this.
As someone who's had great experience with Norway, I'd question the "most democratic" part to my grave. Norway is a very weird mixture of -isms, be it capitalism, socialism or even communism. Just on the tip of my tongue - incest. It's strictly forbidden and punishable by prison no matter if consensual, between homosexuals etc.. It's 2024. I mean seriously, why does the state care so much if I, a guy, bang my cousin - also a guy... or whatever. Morals? How's that democratic? Hence me saying - Norway has progressed a lot, but also keeps some weird bits from the past that don't look nice to a foreign eye and certainly are not democratic. Also Vinmonopolet...honestly the craziest thing to have in Norway, a country with a huge problem with alcoholism and drugs, that is mostly caused by the lack of quality alcohol with a sane price tag. The only country I know to have a predrink culture, with cheap(in a way), low-grade beer or vodka, usually rushed because alcohol is only sold until certain hour of the day. But at least your farmhouse beer yeast rocks.
Reports of the Canal's demise have been greatly exaggerated. The $4 million bribe was actually an auction for a transit. Each day the Canal auctions off one transit each direction to the highest bidder. That auction was a record breaker, however most other auctions are not anywhere near as notable.
Norwegian here and our country is going to shit and is becoming poorer from mismanaging its currency and is now busy at work impoverishing its population by having promised nearly free electricity to huge foreign companies until 2031 as well as selling any remaining energy surplus to Europe driving up the price massively for its population. The schooling system actively punishes talent, hard work, and innovation. Norway has been carried hard by a strong cultural contract that lets the otherwise prohibitively high administrative costs of maintaining law, order, and bureaucracy in such a sparsely populated country be overcome by implicit trust and strong cultural norms and expectations. The Norwegian state wants Norway to be multicultural instead of having this cultural contract define its society and with this we will increasingly become a dysfunctional corrupt rentier state like most sparsely populated countries with heavy foreign influence are. While the wealth fund, granted, was well handled in its time it does not stop Norwegians from literally starving to death or rotting in their feces in nursing homes and will less and less benefit the common man in Norway and instead be used to allow the wealthy elite, the long term beneficiary of Norway's resources, to pay less taxes.
