I like to use a 5-string open tuning on one of my guitars - B F# b f# c#, a great tuning for what I call Modern Hard Rock: stuff like Crossfade, Breaking Benjamin, Dark New Day, Three Days Grace, Adema, Papa Roach, Drowning Pool etc. I have also used B F# b eb a# and that sounds great too! Transpose these tunings up or down to your liking, I'm sure you may find use for them! Keep on Rocking everyone! \m/
Its not the radius its the setup. Look at how many session guys play vintage teles and no problem bending. 90% of my guitars are 7.25 and can bend full.
Fantastic playing, my friend! It's articulate, nuanced and definitely melodic! Passionately so! And having great tone doesn't hurt, either! Liked and subbed! Cheers!
Dude, that was a really cool video ! These soli of yours were really good. And that tuning is a great concept, bands like Mastodon or Opeth have done that. Really fun to play with, i call it the "budget metal" tuning haha
I remember my 15yo self, playing Supremacy by Muse. I didn't had a 7 string guitar (still don't have one, lol) so I just tuned down the 6th string to A so I could chug through the main riff (yes. My tunning was E B G D A A)
What type of amp model is that? Some kind of plexi? It's got a great lead sound without being too harsh. Hell, even the rhythm tone is pretty cool. Solid playing too :)
I have 2 SG's and I love them! I'm also a lefty guitarist. My SG's have the two humbuckers. Maybe that's the difference. You only really get one sound with a P-90.
Mark Tremonti uses this tuning in signature Alter Bridge songs like Broken Wings, Come to Life, All Hope Is Gone, Still Remains, Bleed it Dry, Farther Than The Sun and more
hey Joey what string gauge do you recommend for this particular tuning? some of my guitars are tuned to C using a 7 string set, I have no idea about the tension on this one. thanks!
