Don't sleep on that speaker. The live II sounds better than any speaker I've ever heard in that size. Translates pretty well too. Goes against anything I've ever learned and believed in about cones and drivers in my 21ish years of messing with sound. The live II is heavy too. You're right about added weight... but I swear if it's not some cheap small controller from Akai, their stuff is usually heavy. I was surprised on how light the key 37 was. At first i wanted he speaker in the key 37, but then I realized I could care less. It's nice to have something smaller and lighter. I have ALL the newer MPC's and Force to compare them to for weight also a couple old MPK midi controllers. They add a layer of metal so the keybeds dont bend. Probably the same idea for the pads area so they can take a beating.
Very good video, and I completely agree with the ideas presented. AI will undoubtedly change the music industry, but good artists will never become obsolete.
Great demo! The short cut to the browser is the menu button twice or shit menu once. But you might not know that coming from an MPC-X. O know this because the Live 2 has fewer buttons necessitating these types of short-cuts.
This MPC Iis perfect. Just add SSD drive for more storage . Browser button is now Load button. Save button actually saves time and improves workflow. I have ZERO complaints.
You might want to keep the Live 2 which is unparalleled for portability! It’s like trading in a mustang for a Camaro! Plus they will give you penny’s for your trade in.
Why tf would you trade in an MPC Live II for an MPC One with a controller attached tf to it???? That's essentially wtf a 37 key is. MPC Live Ii has more outs, more hard drive space space, prewired for 2nd ssd, has bigger screen, bigger buttons, more dynamic range on the i/o's. Plus that s8&& has speakers and lithium battery. An X cant even f8* with a Live II, in terms of features and mobility. You must be crazy af
Cool, so the Terminator which Boston dynamics is building the body for, one day will be also producing better music than me while slaughtering me and my beloved ones😂 oh fuck🫣
There's a super-simple solution. Let's say you have a 48K project. If you have a sound that would benefit from oversampling, raise your DAW's sample rate *temporarily* to 192 kHz. Render the track (synth, amp sim, saturation, whatever). When you go back to 48 kHz, your DAW will sample-rate-convert the 192 kHz track back to 48 kHz, and there will be no aliasing because you rendered at the higher sample rate and turned the non-alised audio into audio that can no longer alias at 48 kHz. Sample-rate conversion is superb these days, and you're not asking it to do any irrational number-based math with 48 kHz. One more thing: the reason why plugins don't default to oversampling is because it draws a lot more CPU power. But now you know how to solve the problem without having to oversample at the plugin itself. Oh, and one MORE thing: offline sample rate conversion is esentially perfect. Plugins with oversampling need to use sample rate conversion algorithms that work in real time, which may or may not be perfect, depending on the priorities for CPU consumption and latency.
Huh. I heard the guitar when I watched the last one. Heard it all watching it this time too. I don't mind watching a second time though. I think this is one of my favourite videos of yours. I like the content, I vibe with the POV, and it's so nice to see you happy and excited. My son is still readjusting to videos from Grumpy without rude words. 🤣 As a working photographer with no other source of income, my wife's relationship and opinions on AI are basically on the same page as yours. She's been really enjoying how it is pushing her art. And our son is now spending more time playing with the AI music generator and MidJourney embellishing his art and then drawing a new piece inspired by MidJourney, inspired by his v1.
Got one 10 days ago. I like the fact that it can be played on its own, without having to connect to a computer. It takes a bit of getting used to if you are accustomed to having the usual rotary ADSR and Frequency/ Res type controls.
There are elements modulation synthesis where you use types of side band modulation to achieve new sounds… so it’s not always the same ….. you can use …
I'm patiently waiting for the copyright lawsuits. I hope this will happen before human-made music will be buried under an avalanche of automatically generated (because who needs your prompts?) counterfeit bullshit. Keep it greasy so it'll go down easy. Oh no, here comes that screaming sound again. F. Zappa.
In the words of Ozzy Osbourne from a clip where someone showed him AI singing Shania Twain's song 'Still the One' with the 'voice' of Ozzy Osbourse: "The cat is out of the bag." Music is and always be artistic. What I mean by quoting Ozzy Osbourne's reaction is that there's no going back, but that does not mean that AI is the end of or will replace the organic creation of music. Great distinction and comparison of how certain tools that are not AI are already being used to formulate music. How is AI any different if used in that context? Great points and I always value your perspective. You rock, @Grumpy Eye! 💯⚡🫡
i think youtube can let you replace an old video with a new upload so the URL doesn't change, comments and likes and all stay. at least i heard that on some guys channel who did that. but only if they feel like it and you actually get someone to talk to. i'll give it another watch and like though, for the algo.
This is a reupload. For some reason some people didn't hear the guitar that I've played in this video, and it was an issue with the export.. It went out of phase for whatever reason, which of course I couldn't hear on my headphones or on my TV lol.
"Oh my God" im with ya , i mean it just get worse from there, i mean allot of those effects can be done with over drive and compression adjustments in a much more refined way , it cant do all that, but what you get would likely be more usable
This was a great video, thanks for pointing this out, I do have quite a few plugins with the high quality/oversampling feature, I'll be using those for saturation moving forward!
Musik is your first love 🙂 But that does not mean, that some day (when you income is generated by your musik skills again) you might come back to SC here and there. And looking from that distance to SC will be surely epic.
honestly, I couldn't care less about SC as a game, or CIG as a company. They will always find a way to turn content creators into PR, and restrict and ban the ones that are criticizing them. I don't want to have anything with that company, ngl.
@@GrumpyEyeAudio Yes I know, I know. But SC isnt a bad concept, the major money influx just leads to extreme bad project management, where the same idiots can do the same mistakes over and over again without facing any consequences. What I mean, with a calm mind you still can come back without having the inherhent force to play what you dont like because it is not the main content anymore. More like an outsider that knows the game and look at it without having to deal with all the idiots that get angry when disturbed from licking CIG boots.
