Welcome to B1 Horsemanship. Here you'll get free videos to show you how to train horses. You will also see previews of many videos on our membership website. Ultimately, we want our horses to be as loyal as a dog, as brave as a bear, and as light as a butterfly. Everything we do aims to achieve this goal. He is probably is too old to buck anyway....lol...But, taking you through low branches, bushes, and sudden stops ......are a very good possibility.... Cute Lawn mower, needs spa day and haircut...best of luck...good baby sitter...Great for any up and coming little buckaroo.....
I drive draft horses but me and my kids all ride too. I agree with your calm style. I talk about calmness in my videos too if you want to check them out.
I broke a Percheron stud , had to finish him with an aluminum grazing bit , he was so sensitive to pressure, with that bit he began to move out , head at a normal , in stead off dropping his head to his chest ! You don’t want a cold blooded horse to even hardly know the word whoa , or they will become a dead beat , no fun to ride , but if broke right their the best !!
Im surprised you didn't go on and say some more dumb shit like, "that horse is OBVIOUSLY in pain", or " maybe he needs to get looked at by a vet, or a CHIROPRACTOR", or "are you sure that saddle is fitted properly?", or "he's still JUST A BABY and that big ol mean man with that HUGE whip is scary to him, pooooooorr thing, you should be ashamed you big ol mean man you!", and etc. and etc.
Being able to disengage the high quarters is actually a very good thing. But it is not the horse that needs to learn it but the person applying it. Most people see this as something. Their horse has to learn. So they do repetition. The repetition only helps the person not the horse. That is why as time goes on, very few of the good Horsemen will do this more than one or two times on each side and then never again. Once you have learned how to use this tool, it can sit in the bottom of the toolbox and only come out in an extreme case. Unfortunately, most people never really learn how to use this as a tool anyway. So they continue to practice. The practice generally cost the horse. But I believe all Horsemen have made mistakes and continued to repeat them until they learned better. Remember most people riding today spend very little time riding.
