It took me a whole frickin year to catch my first fish off Clevedon pier back in the 1960s (a small pout whiting lol.) A long hard apprenticeship!! Persevere buddy!! I used to catch the bus there most weekends from Portishead. Did most of my mid-week fishing from the sand-bank off Black Nore, Portishead - Primo King rag-worm there galore in them days!! Best bait going along that shoreline if you can get it 👌😉
Next time you fish at battery try using small pulley rigs no more than 18 inches and use hooks that will bend out on a snag and slightly smaller tides fish just as good and your tackle losses won't be so severe
When the tide is running on the Bristol Channel you could chuck a house brick in and it wouldn’t touch bottom for a hundred yards. Keep posting 👍 the Bristol Channel up past the Severn bridges is a interesting place to fish. Limited time to fish because of the tides making it awkward to fish, I don’t think anyone really knows what species of sea fish are in this area due to big tides, Porpoise, flatfish,even bass have been recorded as far up as Tewksbury. Even a dead Tuna washed up below Tewksbury.🤔was on you tube I think.👍
It’s mad how quick that tide comes up and down, I’ve never fished that far uo the channel Littleton is the furthest I fished a match there last year. Had a few bites tho some little fish about

I went out on a boat as a child. Dropped a line with six hooks and bought up six mackeral. Why are you using those when all you need is a boat and a line of hooks
I lived on Portland for 5 years. Get a boat...go out to about 100 mtres off shore. Drop a crab line with 6 hooks that are dropped into the sea. Pull up your crab line with EVERY hook has a fish. Why do the stupid stuff from the pebbles...
I fished off there as a kid in the 60's. At cod, bass and Mackerel, the word use to go out the mackerel are in and you would go down on the pier to find it wall to wall anglers. not the fish there these days.

@@d.tangling6056 yes mate give some of the weston marks ago up around sand point or st Thomas head at low water theres a local guy ian Clark got a good channel mate he's getting some nice fish big dover sole he been getting out of sand bay on spring tides il put a link up to his channel 👍

Yeah I’ve got some seaglo beads haven’t rly used them much I bought them for place didn’t think they would be needed for my CV else but I will give it a go, I’m fishing the channel on weekend but bought they are much use there as it’s proper cloudy water
Great shame L.B isn't anywhere near what it was in the late 80s early 90s then it really was electric... But the way the seas are raped now its hardly surprising... N.b if that was say 91 you'd have to get there hours before high tide to get a spot. It got very VERY crowded.
