Rhino Adventure Gear is California’s premier local Overland outfitter. We have two showrooms located in CA- one in San Francisco and one in San Diego, which are easily accessible from the greater Bay Area and from Los Angeles.
When you’re ready to see our gear in person and check out hard shell roof top tents, stainless steel truck caps, fridge-freezers, off road lights, or any of our awesome overland gear, head on over to our website and make an appointment to come in to a shop for a visit.
We also offer installation on all gear that we sell and pride ourselves on attention to detail and your satisfaction with our work. From mounting roof top tents to technical dual battery installs & sPOD systems installations; we do everything from electrical work to custom roof racks and trailer builds.
How did you mount the Kammok? I have a 5th gen with a Prinsu pro rack and I’m planning on going with an Ikamper but don’t know how the Kammok would mount
We used the Sherpa awning mounts, which kept the Kammok low enough to not interfere with the iKamper, but also allow the doors to open etc. www.rhinoadventuregear.com/products/sherpa-awning-mounts
Thanks for the review. 1) Do the doors zip up or just velcro 2) Can you sit up in there, the roof looks quite low on the video but they may just be the angle.
Hey there, thanks for watching our video. To answer your questions; 1. The doors have zippers running up and down each side and velcro at the bottom. 2. Sitting inside, mattress to ceiling is ~35 inches. I am 6'3" and when I sit up straight, my hair just grazes the ceiling. Hope this helps! - Pete
Please stay off our beaches the gringos have just about destroyed them with their RVS We are trying to save them for future generations. Stop being so selfish.
Awesome adventure video on Baja I loved baja since I was 17 years old driving my Rambler Classic Station wagon down to San Quentin back in 1971. Once I had to replace my head gaskets on my 55 Buick special sedan and another time replace a clutch and pilot bearing on my 55 chevy 3100 pickup. Besides helping repair my friend's cars on our travel adventures to baja from our homes in L.A. I wish I could still camp out on those beaches down there. Thanks for the adventure
This setup is way too heavy. 340 lbs before any gear, cabinets or people. You WILL be OVER your max weight. With all the bells and whistles its over 50,000 cad. I bought a camping trailer for that kind of money. My truck is now light weight. This set up is only good for a 3/4- or 1-ton truck.
I wonder if it would be worth having two skinny solar panels parallel to the center one , might get a 100w setup that way , i know the top has lots of curve , but perhaps skinny ones could work for the mini ?
I think this is one of the best rooftop tents. My question is what does it do to gas mileage. I know all rooftop tents mess with the gas mileage I understand that but what does this tent do exactly. Thank you in advance
