"The Network of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Pastoral Health Care"
The "Patriarchal Network" was formed in 2008 by decision of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and with the blessings of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
The Network consists of permanent representatives of the Metropolises belonging spiritually and administratively to the Patriarchate, and representatives of the other Patriarchates and the Autocephalous Orthodox Churches, those that are responsible for pastoral education in the Theological Schools and Ecclesiastical Academies in Greece and abroad, as well as others that serve and are related to the pastoral care of the sick and medical care in the sensitive area of health. The "Patriarchal Network" liaises with other Christian denominations and with other agents that concern themselves with health care.
The "Patriarchal network" has an educational and socio--medical character.
Η ορθόδοξη ερμηνεία του θανάτου είναι μία και στηρίζεται στη φράση του Αποστόλου Παύλου ότι μέσω ενός ανθρώπου ήρθε ο θάνατος στον κόσμο. Η δεύτερη είναι δημιούργημα του Γιανναρά, ο οποίος συνδέει αυθαίρετα την πρώτη με τη διδασκαλία των Καθολικών περί εξιλασμού και τιμωρίας, για να δώσει την εντυπωση πως αν δε δέχεσαι τη δική του (εξίσου αυθαίρετη και νεοπλατωνίζουσα) ερμηνεία, ότι δηλαδή ο θάνατος είναι ίδιον του κτιστού εν γένει, είσαι αυτομάτως και Καθολικός ή κάτι παρόμοιο. Στην Ορθοδοξία, αίτιο του θανάτου είναι η αμαρτία, η οποία γίνεται από την ελευθερία μας.
@ Rwmhos: Please forgive την παρεμβολή of period in my first sentence. I wonder if you are familiar with the name of Demetrios Kouretas. He has long passed away but he was, in my opinion, the best psychoanalyst Greece had.
@ Rwmhos: Having reviewed part of the discussion, I still will stay. With what I said earlier. The last question of clergyman, who did not know the difference between ego and superego, followed by the confession topic, mrs A. Potamianou answered as well as any psychoanalyst could have answered. Mr. Yannaras' counter answer was typical of someone who depends on the mastery of logos, not necessarily logic.
I congratulate Dr Anna Potamianou for walking the tightrope with the power of logic alone. As always, professor Yannaras had to have the last word which for me failed to stay within the limits of logic.
