Such a tight riddim. Lovely to mix with! Remarc was a breakbeat master. Definitely the king of Amen back then (although this is more of a Funky Drummer workout, with the Amen taking a back seat). He influenced all the Amen editing that came after him. Record collecting and raving in the 90s. What a time, man! Some of the best days of my life!
honestly those boomerang pokemon bumpers might've been my first exposure to rave music like this as a whole. it was no wonder i grew to love that type of music later on
This is how the record sounds ! It's the phase effect on the drums that sounds like a phone booth to you. But when you mix it in a set with correct levels then it works fine, the bass is there and heavy
@@jbbj9720 You know what, listening again, it does sound like the whole track is put through the same process, not just the drums. Wouldn't surprise me if this was an error in the pressing, one inverted channel or something
Yea, they had limited tools so focused on the rhythm and arrangement. Some of it might sound like poor engineering, but on a big sound system it tears it down ;)

I use to dj on Cerwin Vega 18 inch speakers. Let me tell you, the bass on this tune could blow your double glazing out. This was the one to rock your bassbins. Nothing came close until Pulp Fiction was released.
I have spent a good few years tracking this tune down. For me, the greatest DnB bass drop and vocal of all time thus far. Lost classic. Absolute perfection 👊😎❤️
