Banjo Hangout Member, and RU-vid is the platform for posting vids on that site. Began playing in 2008 (self-taught), had a guitar background (definitely helped)... prefer clawhammer and finger-style along with 2-finger thumb-lead (no metal picks!). I just play by ear, so don't use tablature. Enjoy coming up with my own tunes as well. Own 3 very nice customs by Colin Vance. All vids (recorded in or around my home in Colorado/Georgia) shot on a Zoom Q3HD vid cam ($199). Thanks for your interest!
Amazing banjo playing. Another topic completely but I see your roof is spray foamed, this is really bad for the timber and I’d recommend removing it. Not sure where you’re based but in Cornwall UK, we’ve had to completely re-roof houses that have had this done as it stops the wood being able to breathe and circulate air effectively. Cheers for the music
Thanks Miles... this is our unfinished room over the garage (new home)... we are almost on the salt-marsh in SE GA... quite hot n' humid, and if you don't have spray foam insulation... you will have much higher energy bills, especially during the warmer months. It is quite desirable in our neck of the woods... never heard of anyone having any roofing issues. Cheers mate!
Everything here is from 10 years ago. Makes me sad. Ran into this only this summer (actually looking for either a karaoke or full instrumental of this particular song by this particular singer). So, 10 years later, I pray you and your band are still in good health, and while it didn't aid my actual search, I'm happy I found this particular tidbit skillfully picking up on this song. Thank you for that!
Well Simon ... much obliged and yep, I am in good health and love playing ... was really into Tara as well as "Donna the Buffalo". Appreciate you taking time to comment... the only "band" I had (except when I played guitar in H.S. - lol) was when I was on Faculty teaching Family Practice Residents Women's Healthcare... and handling a Clinical practice in OB/GYN as well. That was a kick. Thankfully, I retired and... life IS good. Cheers!
WAT'S UP B-DOG? Hope all is well with you, and your fam'... and reckon you are still "plugged in" to, the Music Scene, in one form or another. Cool to hear from ya, B-Good/Healthy/Happy - Cheers Mate!
Thanks. Tunneled 5th - the tuning peg is at the top of the peg head, just to the left of the Kingfisher inlay. This is one of three Vance custom banjos I own - he is a superb luthier. Cheers!
Greatly appreciate your thoughtful comment! I tend to have a lot of "tune fragments" in my mind - this tune, just emerged whist "noodlin'" on yon banjo. The nylgut strings give it a bit of the Celtic feel. Onward!
Awesome brighting interpretation. Full of poetry and spirit. Excellent banjo player with much feeling. Such a peaceful and relaxing pleasure to listen. A fresh poetic breeze. Much inspired and talented. Good for the mind and the soul. Big big big like for this fantastic sweet perform and brilliant sharing. Splendid and luminous.
Hey Keith - mind if I use your music on youtube as light background sound on my living history videos (civil War timeframe) -- I'll reference your channel for any used clips.
@@KennethWilliamElkington Hope you've been well lately, I'm looking forward to the next tune. We've had some heinous storms here lately, sitting through one right now actually. We've got a few kittens missing so I'm hoping that I can round them up once the monsoon dies down a bit.
@@danielthompson6207 Well Daniel... Mother Nature can pack a punch... good luck in the storms, but especially finding the kittens. I always have a tune up my sleeve, and will likely record another next week. Thanks a lot for your support - cheers!
