During the witch-hunt era, one of the common practices that was in the manual for "dealing" with witches and "unmasking" them was to sink them in water and leave them submerged for several hours or a whole day. If they were still alive when they were taken out, it meant that they were definitely witches and that is why they did not drown. If, on the other hand, they drowned, it meant that they were innocent and "now rested with God." That is what is shown at the beginning of the video, how the blonde girl (Kiki) is sunk in a witchcraft trial during the time of the pilgrims. The song in general is about the unfair historical judgments made against women for being independent or free thinkers, and is basically pure female rage. Which I love, and I love your reacction by the way.

Interesting thing about the recording of Aeterna, there are only two voices on it. Simone and one male vocalist sang multiple takes to form the choir parts.

Of course, the live performances by the band of these songs are even better, since then you get even more power, less studio effects, and more raw, untamed vocals!

Burnout grows on you, it really does. Not one of my faves originally, but grew to be from this album with repeated listens, and of course, as loud as possible to really get those fuzzy, deep guitar and bass tones that this album has, in particular! Definitely builds the power!

Welcome back, good reaction.🦊The song is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's 3rd album Metal Galaxy released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more mellow songs ... but BABYMETAL can do everything. Tim Henson and Scott le Page recorded the guitar tracks for the original recording of the song. Fox_Fest in Tokyo in May (arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL) was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together.🎸🦊🎸

Welcome back to the Foxhole and now going back to Metal Galaxy era, it's been a while.🦊🤘🌅 Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find more songs like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new. The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, and it's quite clear in the solo section. Tim Henson said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song. The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc, not sure if this statement will be the same now that they got a full new album. Song is inspired by certain "city pop" band (city pop is a subgenre widely known in Japan) and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about it being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly. Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together. They did it again at Graspop Festival in Belgium and they hug each other at the end just like in this version only thing it was cut out, there's also a proshot clip but I'm not so sure about the sound mix. They finished the Europe Tour and they did it along with EC playing their collab song twice at Resurrection Fest in Spain. Next is coming Asian Tour and after that American Tour. Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it. In a recent interview, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one. In a more recent interview BM said that they would love to collab along with Fall Out Boy, can you imagine?👀 They will be at Knotfest Brazil, Argentina and Chile for the first time in South America, as well Peru with a headlining show, they will come back to the US for another tour and also Mexico will be part of that tour but this time as special guests for Slipknot, we can't wait for it. Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

It seems like the kawaii style isn't really your thing, but you can find it in some of Hanabie's songs as it's a good contrast to Yukina's harsh vocals. Contrasts play a big role in Hanabie's music, not only in the different vocal styles, but also in the mixing of different genres that don't usually go well together, but which form a wonderful symbiosis in Hanabie's songs. If you don't know Nemophila yet, you should listen to their song Dissension, the clean vocals there are not anime-like. And we recommend the song Yoshu Fukushu from the Death Note opening band Maximum The Hormone. If you would react to another Hanabie song, which would be very welcome because Hanabie is the best Japanese metal band for us, you should not miss the E at the end when pronouncing Hanabie. Ha - na - bee - eh (maybe a PANIC troll is coming here, stalking us and writing nonsense again)

I see where you coming from. Matsuri's clear vocal annoyed me a little bit in some of their older songs. But in the meanwhile I discovered songs of them where I actually llike her voice. That does not mean, that you'll like it. But at least it is worth a try. Try Okatu lovely densetsu. Another good song where I like her voice is Girl's talk. But maybe this is a too melodic for you.

I definitely get where you’re coming from. And although I really love Hanabie in fact, I’m seeing them in October with Jinjer. But I love Yukina’s growls and even her cutesy voice. But the guitarist voice and some songs I think it’s fine and I think it has everything to do with how much she’s pushing her voice and also how it’s EQed. Because I feel like sometimes she’s pushing her voice too high that it’s not good at all. It sounds horrible. And then there’s also a couple songs there. Also that when she does that, I don’t think it’s filtered off properly because it just irritates my ears. There’s certain songs though that you can tell when they mixed it they mix it properly and her voice is a lot tolerable. I think if they could get a new singer, it be amazing and that’s probably what’s holding them back to becoming really big in my personal opinion. But I don’t think that’s gonna happen because I think they’ve been friends since school but yeah that’s my only complaint about the band. But yeah that cadence that when a lot of Japanese people have when they sing I’m not crazy about it. Which is why I think maximum the hormone is my favorite Japanese band, so far. Because they don’t have any of that.

Well... you might check out one of their bigger songs. "Otaku Lovely Dentsetsu", or my favorite, "Be the GAL". HANABIE. are weird, and for some, they are an instantaneous experience of love and delight, for others and acquired taste. You didn't like Matsuri's chorus in Warning!!, but you might really enjoy how she interplays with Yukina in one of those other songs. (Warning!! is awesome, but it's not even a song that got a MV, among several others that did, on the same album.) Thanks for the reaction! I get to see HANABIE. live, in tandem with Jynger in September. Life is good.

People really need to stop comparing them to Babymetal. The only things the bands have in common is that they are metal, Japanese and cute. That isn't directed at you, but rather at whoever told you they are a "better version of Babymetal." There are several bands in the female Japanese hard rock and metal scene that don't have those anime-like poppy clean vocals. Band-Maid, Nemophila, Fate Gear and Bridear have more "standard" rock style vocals. Then there is Lovebites, a thrash/power metal band front by an R&B vocalist, which results in an almost Dio or Iron Maiden-ish vibe (they're also heavily influenced by Iron Maiden, so that adds to the vibe).

I think I understand very well what you mean about the "Japanese singing style". But unlike most other bands not all of Hanabie's choruses use such melodies and patterns. I'd say in the "Reborn Superstar" album that "Warning" is from, only the choruses of two other songs fit that bill ("Tousou" and "Hyperdimension Galaxy"). The rest work differently and you should also know that this band is very deliberate about not repeating themselves, so you really need to check out some more songs to get a grasp of what is going on. Judging from experience Matsuri is likely to you win you over by the end of it ;) Also Hanabie have nothing to do with Babymetal and not only because the latter is not an actual band. Songwriting, vocals, instrumental, production process, performance style - it's all fundamentally different, so saying things like it's a better or heavier Babymetal makes no sense. I mean Hanabie ARE heavier (and way better imo lol), but Babymetal are just not a good point for comparison. Instead a good point for comparison would be the guys who made that Death Note OP you mentioned - Maximum the Hormone) - because Hanabie started as their cover band and a lot of their earlier stuff is closer to that vibe than anything else.
