hey champ 😭😭😭 I was super motivated by the comments and thought maybe this is the one xd , yet i m still stuck with the 60 hz in the nvidia panel , right now : Game master all those optinos are on : TV : VRR / ALLM / Game master PC : Hardware accelerated GPU Sched / VRR / Optimization for windowed G-Sync enabled from nvidia panel I have the TCL C645 QLED , a 2.1 HDMI cable ( 8K Ultra HD 2.1 - Power A, 3 meters ) , rtx 4060ti , I wennt through many reddit posts and did all tweaks, yet i m stuck with the 60hz in nvidia
Managed to make a randomized 1440p , just for the sake of seeing 120hz when the source gets connected, now im glad that my tv can run 120hz lol , but the screen is halved on 2 or 4, i believe this is destined only for stupid consoles (per tcl support)
Does vrr work fine for you? I have a 2070(hdmi 2 only) and although vrr is working with 4k 60 it has the inverse ghosting effect every time you move the camera 😢
This one didn't quite come out as expected ~ need to adjust bitrate for sure. But, the audio from the other teams voices actually saved this time. Also didn't notice that my webcam was outta whack - fixed around 4:15:45... This time I tried to run game in 2560x1600 & convert to 1440P - need to send 1440P directly across NDI, instead of selecting "monitor resolution" for video resolution in Screen Capture HX.
Hey mate, Firstly, thanks for the video. Here I am with 19 Chrome Tabs open pulling my hair out after reading 120 Reddit posts. Right, so I have a 2080Ti and a 55" TCL c755 mini LED TV. I'm understanding that DisplayPort 1.4 can support up to 4K120 - 8bit (32.8Gpbs). That's fine with me. Eventually the 4070Ti will drop price and I'll upgrade. HDMI supports 18Gpbs so HDMI 2080Ti to TV HDMI is unfeasible. I'm assuming DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 cabling would be the way forward? Do I need an additional adapter? Looking online, I'm not seeing that particular cable anywhere here in Australia that's "certified" like the HDMI cable you mentioned. I'm currently connected this way and the NVIDIA Control Panel under Display --> Change Resolution --> 'PC' is showing up to 1600x1200 which is where, from other forums, is where you can change the refresh rate. This has to be a cable quality issue no?
Seems that I'll need a 3D Club DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter then add a certified HDMI 2.1 cable. Mixed reviews according to a few Reddit posts but best way that I can see. Thoughts?
Thanks for reaching out! • First off, yes - Definitely sounds like you need a legit HDMI cable. I went through like 7 until I found that Rocketfish one. • Secondly, funny that you mention it - I was doing some swapping around of my monitors yesterday, and tried the DP1.4 to HDMI2.1 adapter: a.co/d/57GOEkS (I had laying around in a drawer, waiting for an additional monitor.) I ended up trying it on the TCL Q7 from the videos. It works so dang smoothly without having to fight anything. I did some testing for latency, and the DP adapter to Rocketfish HDMI had almost no render latency (like 2ms & lower most of the time) & gives me a higher framerate for playing COD. - I think from now on this will be the way I keep it setup until I can figure out how to automate the process that I was having to manually do. (- Maybe with like a set of .BAT file commands or something) Huge pain in the butt every time a new driver comes out to go through all the steps of the video. *NOTES* - I'm totally still using the custom resolution that I made in CRU. (Works great) Also noticed that if you plug in several monitors that have never been plugged into the pc before - it wants to default to a DP port before HDMI. Noticed that when I was trying to log into the BIOS to change something or another. (So maybe that means that it prefers having DP as #1 monitor?) BTW - You can totally still log into bios with HDMI cable, but it's easier if you disconnect the other monitors so that the HDMI monitor is the only one connected. Then it works fine. - Also noticed that when leaving the Gsync options all turned on (when using HDMI only) that the flickering wasn't an issue, and that it happens more frequently when multi-monitors were being used. - Only difference for settings: Leave the 3rd option unchecked on the "Set Up Gsync" Tab in NVCP. (Leave the first option checked and set it to "Enable for full screen mode") Also, Make sure in the "Manage 3d Settings" Tab of NVCP that "G-Sync Compatible" is selected for "Monitor Technology" option. That adapter works with VRR enabled & is good quality, so it keeps up without having any picture drops at all. It feels just like GSync is turned all the way on IMO. If you try to leave the 3rd option checked - for some reason when you open a game the screen goes black. - But no joke, smooth as heck with it left halfway on like that. Feels just like if the 3rd option was ticked if you use only the Rocketfish cable. Do I need to use a DisplayPort adapter to get these issues to go away or can I just use the HDMI cable that you mention in your other video and use these settings?
I have seen a lot of the laptops not be able to use it, because you're not using external gpu with the temp sensors. You might have to use whatever it came with. Laptops run extremely hot, so I would suggest always using a laptop cooling pad with some nice big fans in there. Feed it the cold air.
bro you are genius! while I enable 4k 144hz on my Q7 2023 and rtx 3080 with your method, there is still black out issues(sometimes the tv went black and reconnect the pc). I have searched methods for black out issues, and someone suggests to use CRU to turn the HDMI port from 48 gbs to 40 gbs. But this config seems like not compatible with your config. If I do your config and 48->40 config at the same time, the tv will never receive signals from computer. Do you have any insight about this? All cables are HDMI2.1 and they work fine on my lg c3 4k @120hz. no black out issues
Made this for you, and the other's that have been asking. Thanks for watching! Don't lower your FRL bandwidth to 40. You will be hitting over 42 and that will cause the blackouts when under load. You need them running at the full 48. New Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NepSR9hWi6g.html
Thank you so much for this vid! I just got the 55in model, and I'm already pushing my luck using my 980ti lol. Just in case it was my cable, I have a 48gbps HDMI on the way ... but I'm thinking my GPU won't be able to push 144hz. I am able to have 144hz 2K w/ G-SYNC on my main monitor via display port. Do you happen to know if I would be able to push the TV to 144hz via a better HDMI cable? I'm thinking no since it seems the 980ti is HDMI 2.0 rather than 2.1, but I'm gonna try anyway lol. Regardless I learned a lot from this video. If you have any insight I'd love to hear from you! Cheers ~
@@Squirrel-Master-Dot-Net Lol no doubt!! It's such a trooper though. I ended up getting a 48gbps HDMI cable just to make sure and believe it or not, it's now able to push 144hz to the TV @ 1440p!! Not perfect since the TV can do 144hz at 4k BUT I'll take it! I wouldn't have even thought about the cable bandwidth had it not been for your video. Thank you so much for your reply and for making the video! Hope you have a great Summer cheers mate ~

hey bro, do you recommend same settings in control panel for a ryzen 7 rtx 3070? Im using a TCL C745 144Hz edit > i managed to get 144hz on my C745 without doing the CRU (not even sure how). however, i only have 1920 x1080 resolution full RGB 10 bit colour with 144Hz as per Nvidia control panel with VRR, HDR on except ALLM. Some questions for you if you dont mind helping, 1. My native screen says its 1920x1080 in windows and nvidia. Your native says 3840x2160. How can i get the same? 2. How do i enable ALLM ? I dont see the option in TCL settings?
You don't need ALLM, that one confused me too for a while. That's just for Consoles. You still need CRU: In CRU, you need to edit the default timing settings that came with the tv. Here's the updated settings for CRU & NVCP: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gjd9ErBw-AA.html
@nubbalotus legend bro thank you. So to confirm, the 3d settings in your video can also be used on a RTX 3070 with AMD Ryzen 7 5800h ? Last night when playing BF2042 my cpu temps were 96°C and gpu was 86°C. I managed to undervolt the cpu in power options and now it's running a bit cooler. But I was wondering if I change resolution to 4k and 144hz with those 3d settings, will my laptop handle haha ? Thanks bro.
@@banaynaykush117 You need to put laptop on a laptop cooling pad, and create a fan curve in MSI Afterburner. I will make a very short video of my fan curve I've created. You'll be fine after that. 3070 is a very nice card still to this day, you just need to adjust a few settings...
@@banaynaykush117 Also, you can always keep all of the other settings - and just turn off HDR if it's too much for that card. You don't necessarily need HDR, I don't think they even use HDR in e-sport competitions. It drags everything down a lot, but man it looks good lol
Tried your technique - sadly ended up with a blank screen issue :( I'm using UK TVL 85c805 - he's a big boy so I'm assuming some of the manual numbers may be different? oddly enough the 240hz 1080p seemed sort of workable (although the image did seem to wobble occasionally)
Dowload the newest drivers from nvidia's website, needs to be the game ready driver. Reboot into safe mode - Uninstall all graphics drivers running DDU utility in safe mode. Reboot, and then install clean nvidia driver with the GeForce experience. Then add the extension block using DisplayId 2.0 with those numbers. THEN Google how to stop windows from updating drivers automatically. This was what was getting me - windows 11 kept coming behind my back & installing drivers without me even knowing. After I did this, not a single issue. I need to make an update to this video now actually that includes those instructions.
Hello ,im using an 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable 48Gbps and 1060 3GB, 4k 144hz not working on my TCL (C805) VRR is not showing up I would love some help from you. Thanks in advance

TV Drops picture when LFC enables, or when G-sync disables & vsync enables. This is due to NVIDIA gpu's act differently when connected to Freesync monitor & LFC kicks in somewhere around 60fps on this 4k 144hz monitor that has Freesync Premium Pro enabled.

Tried this, but only 120hz shows up anyway no matter what on the latest nvidia driver for my 4090. Do you add new value to the extension blocks or just select the one from DisplayID like you did on the video? EDIT: Aaahh, you meant we are supposed to copy your values, makes sense, the 144hz value popped right up on my C845 TCL and works fine for now! Cheers.
WOW! I was trying to find solution for months! Now my TCL 55C845 works with RTX 40-series on 144Hz, VRR, 10bits, RGB even with HDR over Silver Monkey HDMI 2.1 cable!
Which version of driver do you have? I post my problem at different forum, And I discovered that I can turn on 144Hz only if I have the first\old elease driver installed for my rtx 4070 super, if I install any newer\current driver - the maximum I can turn on is 120Hz. Posted my problem on reddit and nvidia forum.
The new one that just came out on the 16th is amazing!! They finally are fixing all of the issues with HDR in windows! Mine has been acting super nice. 😊
@@Squirrel-Master-Dot-Net No need. I already contacted Nvidia and TCL support and sent them information they wanted. For now I switched to release/oldest Nvidia drivers because it's have support of 144hz and difference between latest and oldest drivers in game around 1-2fps

@@Squirrel-Master-Dot-Net Sorry for a really basic question, but I have TCL QM850g like @glukoza00. I have never had the option to select G-Synch at any point and I'm under the impression it is a licensing issue. Will following this guide allow me to enable G-Synch? Again, sorry if the question is really basic. Edit: I meant to include that I am using a 3080TI.

@@elliotpartney6724 Hit the menu button on the remote to the TV, and go over to Game Master and force it to on. Don't set it to auto, auto only works with Game Consoles. Then you can go into the graphic settings & verify that VRR is turned on in Windows. Then the Gsync will show up in the list after you close & re-open NVCP.
Awesome workaround mate! I was at my witts end 😂. I'm using a 4080 super with I7 14700KF & thought I was lumped with a dud. Do I keep 10bit rgb enabled at all times or will this work with 4x4 Croma as well. I have hdr enabled all the time fyi.

Hope maybe you could help. I have a tcl c745k. On amd adrenalin it only shows adaptive sync not freesync. Im using hdmi to hdmi 2.1 everytime i start a game fullscreen it looses signal?
Thank you for your reply. I'm using a standard ps5 cable which should also have the same specs as the one in your video I believe. I'm using a legion go amd gpu z1 extreme with a VRR dock. I think it's only 40gbps though do I need 48 just to play 1440p 120hz? Bascially the best I can run on the z1 extreme anyways . Thank you.
