That's very clever, but I don't think that I would be able to lift the suitcase. My husband and I used a luggage scale but you needed to hold the suitcase steady to register the weight. Tricky situation.

Mmm.. from what I've heard it's something to do with degrading rubber inside the hot water tubing. You know, like the flexible tubing that you see going from the pipe to your water heater and the same flexible tubing that goes from the pipe under your sink to the actual taps and whatnot. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's what's going on with my bathroom sink.
As for the main pipes I'd say it's maybe old degrading pipes but don't take my word for it I'm just a random kid that's done like 20 minutes of homework on the topic.
