This channel will mainly be focused on various TCGs pack openings (primarily Pokemon and Yugioh) so stay tuned to see an opening for your favorite game or join me across different ones to see what pulls we get as we check out the cards from other games!
Thank you so much for your time and I hope you enjoy the videos!
hoping this game dosent die as im getting into it . Hopefully they translate the other collaboration packs to English and advertise the game better because things like gundam and Eva cards being more available would make money for sure
I think they need to fix the competitive scene, specifically the structure. To begin with, I don't think it was really sustainable to make it a "world" structure, like having to travel to different countries/places to play in an event. It's really expensive for most people. Instead they should have focused their attention to locals or regionals scenes. Worlds I'm fine being anywhere since it's people who won prize money who get to go. Also they need to fix their communication and advertising. Everyone remembers how in the beginning of year 2 they said there would be prize money still, but then a month later they revealed there were none. I believe less people would have left if they straight up didn't lie. Their advertising of the game is really poor, they only got random celebrities to advertise it and expected the game to sell. Also, the travel voucher is fine as a prize, but it could be spread more evenly like 1k travel voucher to top 8, maybe a bit less to top 16, cause right now it's not very appealing, like it doesn't push you to travel outside your area to attend an event. This is just my opinion.
Also just to clarify, when I say focus on locals regionals, I mean you could have LGS host tournaments then winner automatically qualifies to regionals. So for example, if you live in France you go to your LGS, you win, you qualify for the France regional/national. Then if you win that, you qualify to Worlds. This way it makes it more sustainable in my opinion.
i think one of the games problems is people mostly dont know if its growing or dying and honestly best place to see what the current state of the game is around the world is battle spirits tensei the main community
@@nightmareyandere2886 thanks! Damn that’s crazy so it’s only one per case then? I wonder how expensive is the best topper if it’s one per case it must be pretty pricey
I got a goddess story box today. If you think about it opening $0.10 packs hoping to get a $2 card is better then opening $5 packs and hoping to get a $40 card.
And true thats some stonks right there are the packs really that cheap? The only issue I have with more niche games is that its harder to sell the cards in my experience since the audience is so much smaller
@GarfieldTCG Well, you have to solicit people who like anime and cards. (There is plenty of overlap) Every card is foil or better and they are all full art. Discord is another option but the official Discord requires phone verification and I don't trust it.
We just need to keep letting Bandai know what we want as players and get new players into it. I’ve been successful in turning my locals into 25+ players!!!
Hell yeah man love to hear success stories the core community of BSS seems strong and loyal just gotta grow it imo they gotta reprioritize marketing and support LGS with events and prize support to hopefully grow it organically this time. Can’t believe 25+ players that’s amazing man I think in my city I only ever met 2 or 3 others who were interested in the game haha did you guys enjoy the Eva set?
My man how? Me and one other guy are the only ones playing since set 3 at our lgs. We can't for the life of usget anyone else to join. We even have a four lain filled with free stuff
I got the prerelease for $30 opened 4 of the 6 packs won 2 packs and just sold a krayt dragon for $42. So I paid $30 for $42 plus I still have 4 unopened packs that might go for $5 per pack.
I think one of the major issues is most local card shops are very much used to riding the up and down trends of TCGs. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when the last sets flopped (relative to the past couple years) card shops mostly decided to not stock nearly as much product of the newer stuff (bt16 included). On top of that, with One Piece blowing up, card shops have to make the decision of what game to stock more of. They don't have infinite capital to just stock as much of whatever they want, so of course they sway to what's trending. At least in my local area, it's basically impossible to find the newer packs let alone box sets.
The recent sets are expensive bc there’s less product. Simple answer really. Almost zero bt16 was distributed. No sets make it to big box stores and my lgs got like 6 boxes. Better secrets drive boxes to be opened and you wouldn’t be seeing $20 supers
@@jkromes20 i think we agree essentially that the much better SECs and low supply created the new prices. And yeah I can agree that if we boil it down to a sentence then yeah I’d say supply is the issue since as with most tcgs if they overprint it to oblivion even SECs wouldn’t be as valuable however a huge reason for the low stock imo was previous sets having bad secret rares making them hard to sell/very close to distribution and thus not really worth opening anywhere near as much as these new ones so stores wouldn’t order as much so the few stock that was out there for such hype sets like BT16 or EX06 sold out much quicker making supply run out almost immediately making it 130-140$. At least from the couple people at some LGSs I talked to locally and one online that’s what I mainly gathered that they got around the same amount it’s just that they don’t really get a lot of Digimon since usually it doesn’t sell too well so it’s not as worth it I do live in a big city but still of course that could also be dependent on the area.
I hope the game ends up in a better situation because the game is incredible. In the meantime we can just play and try to get new players into the game
Yeah same here! Has such a unique art compared to the other Bandai tcgs would suck if it died and really like that they can do collabs too. I agree the best way to make the game thrive is to try to grow it at the local level hopefully now that the super ambitious money prizes are gone they can use that money for better prize support, more events, promote the game (this time hopefully right not Avril Lavigne lol) and to help LGSs
@@gabrielesambin2241 that’s great to hear locally unfortunately for me it never really caught on and yeah one of the channels I used to watch used to be Italian I think it was BSS Central? Good channel highly recommend them if you’re into gameplay! Non ho scritto italiano in anni scussi per i miei errori ma mi piace ascolatare che il gioco non e morto in Italia spero che sopravviva per molti anni
Thank you for your opinion in this video, you hit the nail on the head 😊. I hope the game heals over time and we get more players back in. Since Set 4, a few decisions have been made correctly (such as the introduction of regionals, cash prize cutting), but also a few wrong decisions (such as ProFest at GenCom). You can see the cost-cutting measures that Bandai is implementing at the tournaments. I just hope that this is not a failure.
I’m mainly a collector for tcgs so I sell most of my stuff I only keep very few of the cards I pull (mostly hypers or legendaries I personally like) but as for raw numbers I’d probably say somewhere like 3.5-4k mainly in SoR since I did open like 28 boxes however in the interest of transparency I do sell singles on tcg/ebay a lot so with that and the showcases I got I’ve thankfully made more than that so will keep using the extra to fuel more videos lol
The producers Of BSS were ignorant of the market and they fkd up now theres a new team but still cash prizes were wrong from the beginning if they were to invest these money they gave to tour into marketing easily this game were gonna be in top 5 tcgs
@@memechampion9123 thank you for watching! I can see what you mean that they misused the money I just think yeah the 1 million$ to start off was just way too ambitious for a new game maybe because of the sales from their other tcgs they thought they could pull it off.
Thanks man that means a lot really appreciate your watching and the support! To be honest I wasn’t too consistent before but I’m trying to do upload a lot more a week now
Thanks for watching! I might be able to try something I’ll do it for tomorrow’s video since it’ll be the booster box one I also think the lights didn’t help since it was a bit later at night so hopefully those won’t be an issue tomorrow
I didn’t know where to check for prices since they’re in JP and tcgplayer is English only and I didn’t see any on eBay so I wasn’t sure but that’s great thankfully I pulled the dual nation twice
I just got home from a pre-release game of Star Wars and I really liked it. It was my first time playing and I went 2-3. Compared to my flesh and blood record witch sits at 0-12.
@@GarfieldTCG Just one they over booked so not everyone got a box. I opened 4 of the 6 pack it came with and won 2 from playing. I wouldn't have bought anymore anyway. $30 for 8 packs is a deal but Friday I spent $10 keyforge and Saturday $15 on fab I spend too much more and I'll have spent more on cards then on my phone bill.
Hell yeah man that’s great to hear there’s others out there also focused on collecting I feel vanguard due to the reprint doesn’t have a lot of us left
That’s sick yeah I had only seen the Varga just looked them all up they all look so cool my favorite so far is the Blangdmire and Varga wish I had gotten that one or at least the SR version
@@Yusei255 yeah that would have been sick but I’m just have to have gotten a SEC first one ever and ohh wow I thought it would have been the Fated one of Zero since Fated of Time has the DSR version is the SEC more expensive than the DSR version?
@@GarfieldTCG well if you look on tcg player the market price for fated one of time DSR is around $394.98, and the SEC is listed lower. so yeah my mistake. although the SEC art is pretty nice.
Yeah it’s a great time to pick it up! Although even with the lower prices on sealed I suggest buying singles if you only want a specific deck but if you just want to crack open packs then yeah it’s a great time
@@GarfieldTCG fasho, I like building my decks based on the cards I pull I kind of live in the middle of no where like the closest card shop to me that has any dragon ball super masters or fusion world is like an hour away I could buy online I suppose but you know how that can go 🙄. But I like that the boxes are cheaper I feel like it's in response to people not buying them at such high prices. Cause I feel like with there only being, I think 2 or 3 distributers in the US and them distribution places prioritizing larger orders over smaller ones. It makes it so that the huge TCG stores who can afford to have 10,000 or more dollars in overhead just chilling it was choking out the smaller shops like these two stores that are 20 mins and 30mins away from me they can't afford to make huge orders and one couldn't even get his order filled because the prioritizing thing. So, then big shops like core TCG and whatever they can hoard all the cases of booster boxes which is kind of bullshit and also it says on the official DBSCG site what the packs cost MSRP.. and the shop I go to the most that the owner was telling me what prices they pay from the distributor and I was blown away they usually get things at 45% off MSRP so to charge ya know 2x MSRP and to hold on to all of the product printed is a little bit of a dick move in my opinion but that's just me maybe I'm cheap hahaha either way im digging the current prices for sure got a box headed my way right now should arrive in Friday woot woot lol... .this became a much longer comment then I intended lol
kira and pucci might be my favourite villains because of the whole trying to find out who they are but kars is also super cool especially when be gets the red stone
i think my favourite parts are either 5 or 6, i love the stands in them like GER, MIH and weather report, and so many other cool and bizarre stands, like coco jumbo's mr president
Thanks for watching! And they’re from the Weiss Schwarz card game they reprinted the Jojo set the original one is like 200$ so don’t buy that one the reprint is much cheaper
@@theopippenfor sure don’t mention it! Also sorry didn’t see the cost part I got them for 45$ each you should be able to find them for a bit cheaper than on tcgplayer
Weiss has been going for 15 years in Japan, a little more than a couple. Bandai changes the number of boxes per case and you assume they're mimicking Bushiroad's entire setup? You seem pretty uneducated on the topic and are jumping to a lot of conclusions.
Hey there thanks for watching I missed this comment since it was made later was checking some of the older comments I hadn’t responded to and yeah that’s way longer than I thought that was my mistake. More so what I meant as I look at it as “Weiss 2.0” it’s to do with not just the configuration change but like I also talked about later in the video the much faster releases pretty much each month (none of the other Bandai games release this fast from my understand union arena does just like Weiss), and the much more collector leaning vs their other games the configuration change is what made me curious to look more into it in the first place. From the info I had seen before doing the video that’s what I was able to find out it could be wrong of course and if I am then that’s on me my bad for any mistake I’ll correct them when I do the opening for Bleach TYBW.
is there anyway you can tell the price of the booster and a rough value of some cards or the rare totals i think it would be a lot more entertaining for people like me, your videos are cool and you must have a sweet collection... i only really know the values of mtg and yu gi oh and older pokemon,, but love watching you cracking packs good luck!!
I’m planning to do a Star Wars update video with their newest update for May and what that might mean I’ll probably do a show summary of how legendaries and showcases have changed over the months so stay tuned!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it unfortunately I opened my other box off camera and I got probably my best pull in vanguard to date lol wish I had recorded that one instead but I’ll upload another one still hopefully and show it at the end
I recorded this a couple weeks ago but now yeah it’s a steal probably should have bought more lol but I think I’m done with Spark of Rebellion for now did you open any yourself?
@@GarfieldTCG I opened about 4 boxes and a pre release and then fell into the whatnot hole and opened way too much. Still no showcases haha. But I am also done until Shadows drops in July.
It’s called unlimited. Whether Disney will print more or not, once price point is gone, I moved on. Same thing with Dragonball and Evolving Sky. I have better things to spend on and not giving in FOMO. In fact, I bought a case (6 boxes) of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet for less than $500.
Yeah modern SV Pokemon can be obtained pretty cheap still at 500 a case that’s an insane deal good find! Are you ripping everything or keeping some sealed?
