I wouldn’t be using chemical guys bruh just saying. they’re all about marketing and packaging design. You should switch to Adam’s. I also wouldn’t be using a liquid carnauba wax, use a paste wax. Adam’s has got spray graphene coatings that last 2 years.
Hey! thanks for the input, next time I make an order ill definitely try out Adams products! I'm definitely not brand loyal at all and this is what I had on hand but exactly the inout I was hoping for so I can find the best products out there
Here is the link to the exact kit, I looked through the website for you today and don't see any comments or notes anywhere regarding a gas or diesel only fit or any changes needing to be made. I have seen this kit used on a Cummins swapped truck however so I don't see it being an issue with weight on the 6.5 detroit equipped trucks www.roughcountry.com/product/gm-suspension-lift-kit-16130
@@THUGLIFEhks No mods required at all for driveshaft or brake lines, only thing that doesn't bolt right up is some trimming on the old upper control arm mounts up front
@@blakedexter3224 awesome! I’d definitely love to do something similar later on, had afew issues with the truck over the years but finally getting back to building it so hopefully soon
I apologize for that, was unsure at the time how to adjust specific volumes, have since made changes and pay closer attention to each specific detail. Thanks for the comment
I have a 2022 SRX but I don’t have the riding opportunity that you have to trails. I bought some synthetic spray for the sliders and it works great I think from a Quebec company. I can get you the exact name if interested - found it at the snowmobile show in Toronto
Yea it’s a 454, the truck is basically stock other then a throttle body spacer and the suspension lift. I only had the VATS tuned out of the ECM I didn’t get any performance improvements done within the tune at this time
Yea unfortunately I think it depends on location in Ontario, Where I am I had this truck and another stopped and taken off the road by the MTO but lots of other guys I know in close towns to me have had zero issues
Missed the upper bumper cover removal that's what I was looking for to see what's involved in replacing. Hit deer and that's all that left I think to replace. Everything was in so many pieces. Lol. What all holds the upper bumper cover? Thanks, and great video.
Hey, youre right I did skip over that, In the video right before i get into the headlight removal i mention the 2 bolts on either side in the wheel well, remove both of those and then the rest is just plastic clips once you pop the sides free it just takes some force and it should pop right off, I hope i have the right piece ypure talking about, on mine its the black plastic above the chrome and if thats the case i hope this helps. Feel free to ask any more questions and if needed i can get a video to you later on
@@jl6.790 Were good and that's exactly the piece I was talking about. You have been a great help and believe I got it from here, now just waiting for the cover to get delivered. Thanks again!
This is the best description of how to remove the bumper. It's just you explaining it. Not 4 or 5 people explaining crap. No music that is louder than the guy talking. No extra crap. Thank you Sir.
@@jl6.790 Bro U.R THE MAN!!!! I just bought a crashed SIERRA & by you taking the front apart you helped so damn much THANK YOU YOU IS A ROCK STAR ✨✨✨✨
That's why it is better to go with an older vehicle. The fewer electronic elements, the better. I think the old GM 6.2 diesel was completely mechanical, and I don't think there was much, if anything, originally equipped for emissions nonsense. My 1984 300SD has EGR and a device to limit fuel output off the line to prevent soot, but luckily my jurisdiction does not inspect emissions for diesels.
I agree, older vehicles are ideal in this situation, only issue is around me everything older typically has severe rust and the ones that don’t are incredibly high priced, going to be branching out in a search for something soon
But think about it if you want to keep staying up there and living up there in Canada then you would you have to sell it because if that's what they're doing they can't make I'm sorry each Place can't make you saw your vehicle I don't care if it's illegal or legal they cannot make you sell your vehicle I would not live up there that's my point and my opinion it's sickens me to see these countries are these states making you sell what you what's yours they can't make you sell it it's against your god-given right no I'm not being a Karen I know the law I do know some laws and I guarantee you it is not right for them to make you sell things that you don't want to get rid of
I do have the option to keep it but id have to get all the original emissions peices put back on at a dealer which id have to pay for out of my pocket when i could do it myself which isnt an option, id also be required to spend about 1000$ to retune the truck and then drive it as a stock truck again which as i mention in the video makes everything i ordered to install on the channel no longer doable. unfortunatly leaving me very little choice
I believe so i don't see why it wouldn't as long as it is the same year range for the lift and has IFS it should work, the rear end is just a block and the front you cut most of the original brackets off and attach the lift ones with bolts through new holes you drill. i would contact rough country directly to confirm but i do believe it would work
Hey I’ve got the same truck shortbox dually crew cab diesel (1999 with cast lower control arms) any chance you could let me know which rough country kit you put on? I’m thinking they stopped selling them cause i can not find the kit for the life of me…! Thanks beautiful truck by the way!
Hey the kit is sku:16130 it is listed on their site here www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-16130.html it says it doesn't fit on a dually model but there was zero fitment issues. I originally purchased it and due to it saying the rear didnt fit i planned to just get lift springs however once i got it there was no issue
Make ur own cold rolled steel spacers in rear dually wheels u need to use a 1.25" spacer between for 37's and 1" for 35's to not rub bulges of each other. Lol bulges.. u can tell u his is my favorite truck and my 98 with 496 has been blessed with a 6 speed manual transmission. Who doggies. I have Doug Thorly headers to over sized with x pipe dual to single 3.5" with x2 super 10's same as ur running but they are inline and have roughly 10" of straight pipe between them and roughly 18" after pipe thats dumping out with violent sharp tear drop like cut out landing dumped into edge of outside tire and wheel well. One of my favorite attributes . Don't matter if towing my toy hauler fully loaded down @ 8800lbs , 35's spare that matches in my bed against the cab at 45 degrees . B&W HIDEAWAY 5TH WHEEL OVER THE CORPERATE . ACTUALLY SHIFTED IT 1.5" TWORDS FRONT LEADING EDGE OF AXEL . BETTER RIDE INSIDE WITH 4 PEOPLE WATCHING MOVIES ITS SERIOUSLY A MANS COUPEVILLE CREWCAB 4X4. CORRECTION MAIN EGSAUHST TUBING IS 3 1/4" WITH CENTER CENTER 3" SUPER 10'S WITH VERYVTHICK LAYER OF CALIPER ROUGH FINISH TEXTURE. IT HELOS ALOT WITH DRONE AND TONE BELIVE OR NOT . MODEST AMOUNT OF LIZARD SKIN AS WELL AS THE THICK DYNOMATTING ENTIRE FLOOR ,WALLS AMD DOORS WITH DOUBLE DOOR SEALS ... STILL NOT AS QUIET AS I DREAM ITS GONNA BE BUT ALMOST ZERO ROAD WIND OR HIGHWAY NOISE ITS ALL egsauhst and lead footed addictions issues of driver. My wife drives and I need to look over at gages to make sure its a running . Last tip, don't go super limo tint dark cause at night the lights from cars and town will bounce around inside like itsbtrapoed So annoying when trying to parallel park a 26' hauler with flipped axel .. lol I can whip into any spot .
BTW yes u can stuff 37's with minor trimming up front at full steer. Also my opinion/tried tested tuned and returned back to 35" bfg mud terrains or my favorites baja TA the tire kook and composition happens to fit the heavy duty dually principles and looks killer as can be ...
at the time the I purchased the kit it was listed for $999.99 plus tax with free shipping. Didnt think that was bad at all as it worked great and wasn't a tough install for the truck being 20 years old and had seen salt and winter many times
Hell yeah bro.. thxz 4 ur vid.. shit me 2 I was trying 2 do a lift in my 3500 dully.. n no 1 wants 2 do it cus supposedly no1 sell a kit 4 it .. but now I sent ur vid 2 my installer 2 c if they can do my truck now.. fukn a bro..🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 my truck is a 93 with 6.5 diesel.. with only 76,000 miles.. @@thegolden675 not sure much about rpo codes you tell me which one to look for and ill get it for you but there's a lot of articles if you do a quick google search of crew cab short box k3500
I found some information on them gm didn’t make them but they authorised a vendor to make them what ever that is supposed to mean they also did the same thing with quad cab s10s but later started making those them selves so is it factory yes is it a gm factory no but yes
What size ubolts and blocks do you need for rear? Also what else would I need to get with kit? Just bought a 96 crew cab dually 4x4 a month ago and thinking about putting the lift on it
Good Lord willing I'm going to get one this weekend. The truck that is and I would like to put that same lift kit on it how difficult was it to do in your garage? Or did you have somebody put it on? I would love to pick your brain about it private message wise?
I threw the lift on myself in my garage. It was fairly easy once I got started. I could have saved myself a lot of time if I read through the instruction manual to find out what I needed for tools beforehand, I made a few trips to the store to buy what I needed which became a few hours of delays. You can ask on here or if you have Instagram fire me off a message and ill be happy to answer anything more you have. Insta:jeff_lyle08
I'm hoping to make more in afew weeks. I have been in the middle of a move most of the winter and have just recently settled into the new place to be welcomed with some record cold temperatures in my area. As soon as I can there will be more!
Had it out yesterday for a ride, unfortunately we haven't got much snow around here at all so taking it anywhere youre still hitting rocks and stumps all day long
@@crownroy4946 no worries, where i ride we don't get the snow for a 154 or 165 at all. Most people around here run 137s or 146s. If we had a super good winter for snow you could probably justify a 154 but this year we didn't even have enough snow to rid till the 3rd week of January
@@jl6.790 thanks my friend,,,im on the east coast of newfoundland canada and same hear no snow but on the west coast of the island they got 4 or 5 ft of snow,,,the boys there use 154 and 165 mostly,,,,me i ride a vk540 but im going to order a summit in the spring,,,thanks again,,cheers
@@crownroy4946 awesome!I'm in north western Ontario, we have about a foot and a half of snow right now. Sounds like most places are well below average this year unfortunately!
add a tether line to your snap on key, incase its pops off it will stay attached to your line, an old sled or seadoo one works. My 2018 xmr defender came with old style key, its a costs in/out thing with can am.
I agree they are great, I used mine quite a few times to help other guys as well as drag a moose out of the bush. Worked flawlessly and can't recommend it enough.
Are you referring to an oil rig? I live in North western Ontario and work as a power engineer in a pulp and paper mill, also a realestate investor which allows me to get the toys👍
Two things should have added some clips of you using it and for the love of god plz turn down the intro in your editing software its WAAAAY louder than it needs to b
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate the feedback ill definitely adjust the volume. I also do not have any videos of me using it unfortunately as I don't have a go pro or anything similar at the moment and never think to take my phone out, hopefully in the new year!
