Does anyone know how to make a CME M-Key work with windows 11? I'm facing the issue of my laptop (or even my super old laptop running vista) to detect it? When I plug it in to my laptop, all the lights turn on (Shift and both data + and data -) but nothing else happens and it won't connect!
Hey! this video was really helpful, helped me disassemble and fix a camera I had never opened before. I was wondering if there's a way you can explain more in depth how to get the lens back on? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get both the lenses back on.
That is an excellent question. It seems there is footage for (1) removing the lenses, (2) disassembling the shutter, (3) cleaning the shutter, (4) reassembling the shutter, and then for the final step: (6) adjusting the focus. But no footage for what I'd call step (5) reinstalling the lenses. Part of the reason is that this took me many tries. I did it by turning both lenses at the same time in opposite directions (since one is reverse threaded). But you have to find the point to interlock them so they both grab the threads at the same point in the rotation. It's very difficult, particularly if the threads are damaged or dirty or need lubrication. And if you don't have both lenses oriented perfectly you're very likely to cross the threads and damage them. Another approach might be to install one lens and screw it all the way down, then install the other one and use a blade between the gears as shown in the final step (6) adjusting the focus. That might let you slide the gears against each other until you get to the point where you want to mesh them. Disclaimer: I have not tried this approach, but I think it might be much easier.
@@marissajolie6857 Hi there - would you mind sharing how you managed to work out how to realign the focal lengths of the two lenses? It's doing my head in! Thanks in advance!
Bravo! You helped me. I just needed to see what was behind the driver. I'm trying to straighten a bent speaker grille. It was sold to me, and the guy forgot to tell me about it thank you for your post. I love these 598s
What should I do in the event that my shutter has been cocked and I cant get it so release? The entire shutter has shifted counter clockwise about an inch and I'm not sure how that happened. The shutter was loose and working somewhat when I first began to try to repair it and oil it.
I can't be sure in this case, but I'd take it apart again to release the shutter and then pay careful attention to the pin mentioned at 16:28 and the angle of the half-moon shaped gear inserted at 22:55. Also the comment at 27:45 about tensioning the bezel.
I've just bought a Praktina FX and the cloth shutter is more holy than the Pope, much worse than this. I'm tempted to try something like this, but there's got to be a better way to apply it that with a finger.
Thanks for the video - I have the same issue. However, I don’t have the tools, expertise, or confidence to try this at home. Do you do repairs yourself? Or can recommend someone who can work on this little camera?
If it was just this issue then I'd volunteer to look at it, but I think each camera will have its own issues after 50 years and I think I just got lucky on this one -- I have never tried to fully take a camera apart for repairs. The only professional I've used is Jim Kilroy at barnowlcameras@gmail.com, you could ask whether he will take on Petri repairs.
HI, do you know how to fix the lightmeter? Mine power up but not measuring when I turn the aperture or shutter speed dial. Press the check battery knob, the needle does jump up and down.
My problem is exactly the opposite, when pressing the A4 key it is sending always a velocity of 127, even when pressing it softly. I will open my Behringer keyboard with the help of this video and see what I can do
the Hi Matic 9 manual is in there too lol, I've contacted the guy and he wont even send it to my country because of shipping taking too long and wont sell the PDF either :(
Andy did you manage to upload the 7sii service manual? I see it is now available! learncamerarepair.com/product.php?product=1229&category=2&secondary=7
Sorry I don't have any experience with other repairs for this camera. As noted below the 7sii service manual is hard to find. Service manuals for similar models may be available here: learncamerarepair.com/productlist.php?category=2&secondary=7
Thank you so much for the video! It is quite hard to find Minolta 7sii repair video.. Can I ask some question..? My camera has problem of the lens itself feels a little loose and aperture control part has some big mess dirts(like grain of sand) so hard to control. It is quite hard to open that part.. Is there any solution to open that part to clean and make it more tight?
I have a Minolta Hi-Matic G with the same problem. But when I disassemble/take the bottom part off to get at the battery contact. I don't have the two screws on either side of the contact like your model. It's just the contact alone. No way to get it out or get at where the wire connects. (from the top anyway). I also pull a bit on the red wire and it doesn't move. I thought maybe it would come out of it wasn't connected. I wonder how I get to the wires underneath? I can't seem to see a way, unless maybe by taking off the lens.
thank you so much for taking the time and making this video, it helped me to see what I'm up against, gonna have to open them up and re-soldier the cable directly to the headphones without the audio jack as mine is broken and there isn't any alternative same size audio jack to buy...
@Soren that's kind of touched on from 04:00 to 05:00. I think you have to unscrew the collar on each side, and be careful when you pull the sides out because there is a wire connecting them through the headband that will break if you pull them out too far.
Do you have any advice on how one would go about accessing the drivers in one of these? Is it feasible to remove the glue and re-attach the driver without causing damage?
