Welcome to my channel. I post many videos of the many aspects of my life. Most of which are performing Shakespeare or Marlowe monologues or other period plays. I also have several Renaissance Dance videos. I have a few "how to" videos also. Feel free to drop me a line with any questions or comments (even if you disagree). Subscriptions are also very much appreciated. Please consider making a donation/tip in the banner sub-screen or the links below (the first is PayPay, the second is CashApp) to help with family and animal medical expenses. Thanks again for visiting.
THe outer circle/oval is 16"-18" diameter (multiply by 2.5 for cm). The inner circle is 6" diameter, but you can custom fit for your size. Also notice that I move the center hole an inch toward the back.
Awesome man! Thanks for that. I'm a historical re-enactor from the UK, and right now I'm studying nuns attire. I have costume making background, so I know my around a sewing machine and stuff, but it's really hard to find anything about the shapes and sizes of the various bits of clothing that might go under everything else - so thanks for putting your stuff out there. I'm watching the rest of your vid's right now. The under-coif - so simple and effective.
I'm not sure if that bard would approve, during Shakespeare's time Richard's costume would have been padded to exaggerate his deformities. Whereas in Richard's lifetime his clothing was padded to hide his slightly shrunken shoulder.
The elf cap is actually quite large to fit my pumpkin sized head with a wig. Thanks especially for appreciating the Master Sword... I should have done a "spin shot" with it.
I don't have a printable pattern. I found the one in this video on Pintrest. You might try copying the patter in this video to some graph paper, than carefully draw it on the material.
We are not a folk dance group, we are a Medievel-Renaissance Recreation group... which makes me wonder why we did this dance 300 yrs out of our time period.
Thanks for appreciating the SpFX, there was an earlier video in which I thought I went overboard... but is there any such a thing? England did not allow ceremonies. France didn't allow portrayal of clergy at all.
of course I will, just looking to source some pellon, although I might try doing some double layer buckram first and I have a lot of that to hand :) @@YeomanLocksly
Thanks for your support. I'll see if I can make that new video in a few days. WHen I do, shall I just make the underbase or sew the fabric over it also?
@YeomanLocksly I would like to see how smooth you can get the over layer. I've tried doing some similar styles for LARP costumes but I haven't found a way to make it look really sleek
It might take me even longer since the video editing program was pulled from my computer... and every computer, so it might take a while to find a replacement.
Hi! I remember you had a second video describing the process of how to make the nun's veil, but I don't see it in your channel anymore. Was it taken down? I'm in the middle of doing my own costume, and your way of explaining is so much more detailed than other videos I've seen
