If you don't feel like diagnosing it then condemn the unit and tell them they need a replacement. That was a joke but unfortunately I've seen people do it after 27 years in the business.
Thank you so much Brian! Seconding Parabellum-X; I’ve been thinking about the residential to commercial switch for quite sometime, and finally made the leap. Starting on with a commercial & industrial company on the 11th!! Great into as I’m trying to prep as much as possible.
3 tons unit to how many sq feet home? 13 years system? My mother in laws is 30+ and working. 3 ton unit. Tiny closet. And techs that takes me for a fool.
35:25 - TD is as you said: the difference between the temperature of the air over the coil and the saturation temperature. In comfort cooling, we’re supposed to be using the term DeltaT to indicated the change in air temperature from supply to return air grills.
Good morning and thank you again Brian for sharing your knowledge. Several years back you said that you were thinking about building a trainer from a window unit, did you ever build one? I would like to train a small group of people and a trainer would be nice.
I’m planning to start an HVAC program at the end of June and I’m considering going for their 2 month refrigeration program after that. I live in AZ and do not like being out in Heat- am I on the right path in thinking to focus on commercial refrigeration?
even more summary: Name | Temperature | Pressure | State Discharge Line | High | High | Vapor Liquid Line | Med | Med High | Liquid Expansion Line | Low | Low | Vapor-Liquid Suction Line | Med | Med Low | Vapor
Do you guys like canvas or is it better to go with hard metal all the way. I have a canvas one now. I'm doing a whole change out and can re-do it similar or different. ideas? and why
This is an awesome video, my only question is Brian how come you didn’t talk about in-rush amps before the hard start kit? is that a unimportant step that I’m taking that I don’t need to?
Good to see you again brain sir.... I constantly watch Video regarding hvac... So my Point is to ask why there are so many Highly expensive tools used... In India I can't see these types of tools...
Nice animation! Very well done and needed for many. However, if a "learner" doesn't understand saturation pressure/temperature, he/she will feel lost. Also, I believe that many would love to hear a detailed explanation of the physics of the valve that makes air cooling possible.
Yeah, I've always wondered about pressurizing a line set that has a 'Hard Shut Off TXV'. How does the pressure get from the high side to the low side. Now I know. Interesting. Thanks for the info.
I worked with MAPP and torch and recently I bought a oxy-mapp set, It's wonderful the oxygen ... if you have the correct accesories and you know what to ask when purchasing the accesories (a total pain if is your first time), I highly recomend MAPP Torch or Turbo Torch Acetylene for getting started and save for oxygen set.
I already have the duct work. I just need a new unit. We tried charging the one I have, and it didn't last long. It runs, but it just produced warm air. Also, our unit is kind of small for the age of this house and the sq ft. About 1985 and 1500 sq ft. single rancher with finished basement. I'm thinking 2 stage would be nice, but I'm not sure it will be worth it
This is far and away the best Q&A session I have ever experienced on yt. This impresses me so much it's hard to express. Definitely will be searching your archived material. Thank you!
I very much appreciate your work as an educator. One thing that would help is if you would repeat the questions/comments of those in your live audience as they are nearly impossible to hear online. Thanks for helping us.
