Welcome at my channel at RU-vid. Here you can find a choice of dance Videos (mainly Scottish Country Dance - SCD, and some others) I took during the last few years. Some of the dances are newly published or seldom done, so I though this channel would be helpful to make them more accessible. When possible I also give info, where you can find more details for the dances (including deviser and where they were published).

Does anyone know how to reach Rik de Vroome ? I am doing Far Islands in a demo and would like to provide a bit of info about the devisor and an explanation of the title.
Hello Elisabeth, Unfortunately Ric passed away in spring 2023. If you send me your email I can send you some info regarding him. I've checked the original description, but it gives not hints, where the name cames from. Ric and his wife Claire lived near + danced in Eindhoven. Ric was a keen SCD + Highland dancers and taught aus well. He also played violin very well and wrote quite a number of tunes going with his dances dances.
The men are wearing "Kilts", a traditional outfit for Scottish men, or if you're dancing "Scottish Country Dance" (like in this video). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilt
It might have ben useful for Scots around the World who came upon this excellent example of Scottish Country Dancing to know that MSA stands for Munich Scots Association. Excellent to see at least twa bairns dancing along with their parents. Now as a Glaswegian of a very long time ago (left at age 17), now in Vancouver BC, I would think that Whitsun was a Sassenach holiday not recognized by the Kirk, but....?
