Oh, I love that performance so much. I watch it so often. Good times for the band when they started to get even more recognition after Empire. Tom is an incredible frontman. When I watch old Kasabian videos and then under new videos I see young fans writing something like "Serge is a born frontman, the best this band has ever had. I never liked Tom and he had no influence in the band. Kasabian's success is all about Serge." It makes me laugh and sad at the same time. Apparently people don't know that there was life before 2020 and the band's performances before 2014 are already an artefact for them. Kasabian were always known as a live band, and Tom played over 1000 gigs as frontman proving that, and now at those 90 gigs that Kasabian did without him in 4 years people were saying that Tom was never needed. Yeah now they're saving their frontman so he doesn't get depression and burnout, otherwise poor Chris Edwards will have to become the frontman he never wanted to be. They used to do about 100 gigs a year, now around 90 in four years. Still the same band - they're trying to prove to us that. and they haven't given a single full acoustic performance, although their acoustics used to be one of the best among musical bands. Same band, same band if not better. It's ridiculous. God bless Tom
As much as I absolutely love Kasabian the way that band and especially Serge treated Tom was disgusting. They didnt even have the decency to find out more about what actually happened before making the decision to basically stab him in the back and kick a man while he was down. Serge and his jealous and egotistical side are what put me off listening to them while he is the now lead singer. Tom is and forever will be the voice of that band. I know Serge is the song writer but he was obviously jealous af of Tom and how everybody loved how cool and how good of a singer he was. And he has always been great in interviews and is very humble and you can see how much it means to him that people are loving his own music and supporting him through the hard times he had.as his Solo project has done really well in the charts. Better than his now tribute band did with there first record without Tom.
I recored it on cassette haha imagine that even back then hahah. so we could play it in the car!! Hated cd players in the car! this is what my then 4 and 5 yr old kids grew up with. Was lucky enough to see them finally in 2014 and then 2017,they still sung every one of these bangers, and both gigs everyone left singing laaa la la la la la la la la laaaaaaaaaa
Kasabian are the band of my youth! So many memories man! Getting lifts from Northampton to Leicester Uni for Brighton Beach club nights, takes me back! Saw Tom in Northampton earlier this week solo, fucking class!!!!
53:50 Yo estaba del lado izquierdo y en el ultimo tema todos se pusieron a saltar como locos jaja hasta las chicas te empujaban de tanto lio que había, que buen recuerdo
@RosieHarp None, like I've never listened to a Stereophonics album, Elton John album, U2 album, Phil Collins album Coldplay album or REM album (I could go on) but they all have much better songs than Kasabian
@RosieHarp As you previously asked me... there are loads of bands who's albums I haven't listened to but I know their songs, Kasabian have never released decent enough music over a period of time to grab my attention, so why would I listen to their album if their supposedly mainstream songs aren't doing it?
I see ..... So because you've listened to 2 songs no doubt commercial singles and don't like them much they are a '§h|te band'? 😆 You don't know the album material, never seen them live and yet feel qualified to condemn them as a band. I'm been massively into music for 4 decades, I would never describe a band who's music I didn't know like that. Music is subjective Over and OUT
I was there for this, and though I had been a fan I wasn't 'super' into them. But this set made me so. It was incredible, the crowd was insane. Me and my friend were swigging from a wine bottle loving life
We saw Tom Meighan at a small venue in Norwich a few weeks ago. That man is hugely underused in such a small venue - completely dominates the pyramid stage. Brilliant stuff.
Massively underrated. I'm surprised Kasabian didn't make more of an impact in the states. I know during the naughties we ended up with a resurgence in Rock n Roll to finally end Britpop. So The Strokes, Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, early Kings of Leon who are all favourites of mines couldnt touch Kasabian. I honestly thought people in the states would love there mix of genres like Rap, Dance music and garage Rock. They are one of the best bands I have ever seen live in my life. Tom deserves to be given a second chance but Serge and his massive ego wont let that happen.
Wish they didnt fire Karloff, he had an edge that none of the others have. Tom and karloff should get together since Serge shafted Tom. Serge as lead singer? Never gonna see them live again.
