One suggestion, if you could add sub sections on the video and mark the topics it will easier for us to skip certain topics and watch the topics we are interested in. Just a suggestion la.
Loving every episode. And i too had the same question on my mind about CM holding meeting for releasing salaries of Temporary employees. Never heard it before.
what I dont understand about these "new rules" being laid out in relation to the mass hiring and regularization is that aren't these employees too covered under the same Service Rules like every other employee of the government? If yes, do we need this process of defining everything. Couldn't the rule that is already in place be followed.
It is a fact that the post of Chairman, SPCB Sikkim has been lying vacant for some time. And just to correct the hosts, the post is no longer filled by a Govt. nominee/political appointee. There is a Selection Committe for selecting the Chairman based on set eligibility criteria. Further, it is not true to say that SPCB doesnt have any staff.
Dasain is a broader term meaning "festival" as the saying goes "Nepali dasain & bhotay dasain" Bada Dasain is referred to Vijay Dashami or the day Goddess Durga slayed Mahisaur (as it is the longest and most significant for Nepali Hindus)
Hey, thanks for explaining this. And this leads to the idea that we at SikkimKo should start a series on festivals and traditional celebrations. Until then, happy Dasain
You think body cam is not necessary here in sikkim ? I once had an argument with a lady beat police over a very small issue, it was just an argument at the end of the day but then she went to thana filed an FIR saying I physically assaulted her and I was detained for 24 hours after that to squash the FIR she demanded money from me, so u see police are also the biggest extortionist here in sikkim so body cam is a must.
You guys are doing a brilliant job. Love the episodes. This has now become my preferred way of getting the news apart from the papers, to the point that I have reduced looking at the social media platforms for news on a daily basis. Keep it coming. And yes, the audio was a bit off last week, but didn't complain as I was sure you'd have it fixed 😊
Yes, the audio issue was pretty prominent last episode. Seems to be resolved to an extent this time. Pema's voice still sounds like it's a bit further away from the mic. And yes we are listening. 😅
Many government offices in and around Gangtok have designated parking spaces that are primarily used for official vehicles during office hours. However, these spaces remain unused after working hours and access to them is often restricted for non-government vehicles. A potential solution to address Gangtok's night parking challenges could be to open these lots for public use from 6 pm to 8 am, as well as during government holidays under the supervision of GMC or any other relevant government body. This initiative could generate additional revenue for the government while providing a safe, monitored parking option for vehicle owners who lack parking space. It’s a win-win situation that benefits both the government and the public and could potentially ease parking congestion in the capital.
About the highway… I think they are building an alternate route from Pakyong to Bagrakote NH 717A, but that might take time… could you find some info on it ?
After this episode, I can’t help but think that Mr. Pema Wangchuk must have been a doctor who got a raw deal in a past life! 😂 But seriously, I hope you keep shining light on issues and unfairness in other areas too. I really enjoy all your podcasts-SikkimKo is such a breath of fresh air compared to the uninspiring, "fawny", copy-paste journalism we see around here. Keep up the great work! 🎉 More power to you all 💪💪
Loving podcasts in this channel lately. I too didn’t know that Paltan movie is based on Nathula war even watching it twice or thrice. Hoping for more to watch.
