It's a old vid so not expecting a reply but if anyone could help it would be awesome. I use normal gov mode (no store) when I Power up at 75%th I'm at around 1950RPM then switch to 85% I'm at 2250. Switch to 90% nothing happens. If I spool up in idl up 1 85% I'm around 2000 rpm when I switch to normal mode the headspeed drops to 1850. I'm totally lost here. All on a fresh pack

Thanks for posting! I only wish I had seen this a bit earlier as I just today lost a motor in one of my twin engine planes because of this. Luckily it burned up between flights. When I plugged in the battery for the 2nd flight there was a slight, muffled kind of pop sound and a cloud of smoke came out of the motor. Fortunately it didn't damage the speed controller. I was surprised on how much smoke came out of the burnt motor! I'll be doing your simple test from now on for every motor I have!
I have flown a heli once since 2012 (when I exploded my logo 600 when piroflipping without strapping the batteries down (supposed to be an easy test flight but lost my mind). That was about 3 years ago and it was a friends heli. I did basic figure 8's and a piro turn and was terrified. I'm going to try and get my old Trex 450 going and completely forgot how to set up the mini Vbar so decided to watch some videos when I came across this one. It gives me hope that I can get my heli's going again.
MrMel. Your head speed calculator is no longer available anywhere. Not online. Not on the Apple Store. Not on the Android platform. The currently available headspeed calculators are very limited. They do not take into account all the hard work you did to calculate expected governed head speeds for the different and various ESCs. Without your head speed calculator, one is left with the only option of trial and error with different motor Kv's and different pinions. Please, please, please. Make your head speed calculator available again. I will personally cover the costs of maintaining the website if that's what it will take. My email is johnhamel55@gmail.com.
I have done all setup procedure & everything works as it should except the sense of direction(the gyro correcting for winds ect) is wrong?. When I correct the ailirons the elevator is not correcting right and vise verser? Ive tried correcting this in the servo direction menu & nothing corrects this? Any help appreciated.

What if all your phase wires read different resistances to ground (shaft)? Would it be safe to assume at least 2 of them are shorted/damaged, or could a wider range of resistances between winding/ground be acceptable for a BLDC? (They are not zero).
Hi there I have a question about a firmware update I performed on my OPTO 160a ESC 14s 59v esc. Whilst I was updating the firmware using the link cable and the 1.4.8 software there was a power cut. Now when I turn on the esc there is only a red light nothing else. I have tried re-installing the firmware but it says that the com port is closed and the update fails. My esc is unusable and there is no details online on how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Edward

Hi There, Great Video i remember seeing this a number of years ago. I am trying to set my Gov Store, but it it not blipping when I rev it out with a linial 0-100% throttle curve. It is in a Compass Atom 500. Would this be because I removed the power from the esc plug first on the prog card and not from the RX first? of i sthere something I may have potentially missed
I tried to fallow I'm a car and drone builder and new to flight controllers and gyros. I have a 450l 1700kv 22.2V FBL 50A platinum H.K ESC. my 2 nd build all info from reading or you tube. Your video help but I need to watch the rest but, when I went out to hover it lifted up my heart racing it drifted a little I compensated then in wile in normal I punched the trh. and my tail went from 6 oclk to 3 not bad but new to it scared me I look at my setting is it possible you would have time one day to check the file or video. After many first flights I just now starting to barley understand how these fbl controllers work seems to be too much I gain when I let off throttle it can't hold the heading after a hard punch out. Seems the pre comp kicks in twice. One for up and a kick for off or back down Collective torque
Hello Fredrick and thanks for your great video. I have a doubt that I can not solve. You mentioned how to program YGE end points and this is clear. My flybarless unit (Brain 2) needs for me to program the pulse duration for throttle min and max. This seems to me to be the same as programming end points and I I do understand why both configuration. Can you please explain? Thanks a lot
I built a drone yesterday and i couldn't get it to fly. After a while i found out the carbon fibre got really hot when the motors spin up! I think a screw touches the coils of the motor, and the current flows through the arm back to the PDB... i will remove the screws and try again :p
Do you think i should try this on my 250? i currently run the default settings 80/60. The tail holds pretty well but its a bit finickity in the wind. I was running microheli mode but recently just changed to lock mode (havnt tested it outside yet) Im running a fairly descent servo on the tail thats fast and read there was no benifit to using microheli mode unless using a slow servo. Currently my tail is pretty rock solid indoors with no wind, but i cant tune out a CCW stop bounce. Ive tried -50 in the stop gain with no effect, if i try the other side it does soften the tail stop. People keep saying its a 250 the tail will never be perfect but ive seen other 250 tails do really well in wind.
