Just received my Briley Handguard after waiting anxiously for 3 weeks, and more than a few questions to Briley as to whether the handguard will work with the A300 Patrol compliant model. Well, sadly it appears... no, it will not. Very disheartening given Briley essentially guaranteed it would. I honestly don't think a lot of people even know what a compliant model is. The piece of plastic that meets the receiver and is part of the original handguard from Baretta is molded to a tube the runs the length of the mag tube. It doesn't do anything, but is there and at the very least would require mag tube disassembly to remove it. What a bummer. Do I Dremel it off, easy enough, but do I then run into other issues? So bummed because the Briley is beautiful addition.
@@Jmp64-ns8zl so the spacer towards the receiver on the 7 round tube is removable and on the 5 shot tube you’re saying it doesn’t come off, is that correct, I’ve never seen a shorter tube version of the a300. If it’s able to be dremeled off do it, the briley is much better, me personally I am not afraid to modify stuff to make things work, and sometimes aftermarket parts not just guns parts need modifications to work, wonder why beretta would make a different part for the same gun, wish you could send pics through RU-vid . Do you use Reddit? You could put it on tacticalshotguns subreddit and I could look at it
@@Timcanniff311 The spacer the abuts the original handguard is the same, but they then molded it at the bottom to a polymer tube the runs forward to the spring. That tube is the issue. And I am afraid to cut it, if there are then going to be more issues. I'm really surprised that Briley did not know for sure. Tried reddit, wouldn't let me post. Not to good with tech though. Appreciate your time.
@@Timcanniff311 I was able to get the barrel off and remove that lower sleeve in the process. However, when I slid the Briley on, it was nowhere near flush with the receiver. The upper part of the Briley flared about a 1/4 inch on each side. Plus there's a lot of movement in the handguard, just cannot tighten it enough. I will try reddit again.
Is that a Specter Gear shell caddy on the Urbino? I was going to get one, but the guys at Specter talked me out of it. Said it would be too loose on the forward Velcro strap. Yours looks like it works fine? Although it does cover the sling attachment on the butt.
@@Jmp64-ns8zl yes specter gear I used the ring on the shell holder versus what’s on the stock to mount the sling, and it is tight doesn’t move on the stock

Spoke with Briley, and they confirmed this HG will work on my A300 5 round compliant model. The compliant model mag tube is about 4.5 inches shorter than the standard model. As such, there's no barrel clamp bridge either. Just a short mag tube end cap. What holds the Briley in place? The stock HG, and I believe the Zhukov is simply held in place by the end cap. Am I missing something?
Just watched your previous A300 stock install, looks like you added over $1K (?) in goodies (GG&G) to make look awesome, congrats. Was this the only stock upgrade you considered?
@@donculver8671 this is the only aftermarket stock available for the a300 as of right now chisel machining is coming out with one soon, yes is this video I believe I had the Gg&g handguard and heatshield that was 300, the tube cover was 75, the Aridus follower which you can’t see was 60, the Holosun was 350, the stock was 130, charging handle was 40, handstop was 25, buttstock shell holder was 40, flashlight was 120, so ya over a 1000$, but obviously not everyone needs all these things, but the tube cover is a big upgrade, and the stock I like pistol grips so I chose this stock
Thanks for posting , hard to find stock options (insert dad joke) but does this new stock help align your eye with the ghost ring sights? Many reviewers say the original stock is too low and you cant see the iron sights much less the higher red dot optic they install because your cheek is too low on the stock cheek rest. I also noticed there is a small gap just behind the trigger guard where the new stock butts up against the receiver.
@@donculver8671 I think the Mesa tactical stock without the riser was perfect for me with iron and the Holosun that is on it, now if you buy this stock you need to choose if you want the riser or not first, you can’t add the riser to the stock if you get the one I have on the 300, I learned that the hard way, yes there is about a 1/16 of an inch from the back of the trigger guard and the stock
@@odysseykatewwdb yes, I put a rubber cap in it that was on the bottom of the stock, I had mounted a QD cup on both sides of the stock and just plugged the one I was not using
@@odysseykatewwdb I got it from grovetec off Amazon, there is another company that makes one called noveske but that one broke so I’m not suggesting that one, just search grovetec qd cup , you drill a 1/2 inch hole and it has a nut on the backside to mount it. Fairly easy, you must have a hollow stock for this option
Buy the Aridus Industries piece. They developed the first adapter to use this handguard and there have been zero issues with it. It’s been out for years.
@@CH-XC2011 it goes about a half inch higher than the barrel and the sides are at a 45° angle and there is about a 3/4 gap between the sides down the center, so you can use a C grip and not burn yourself
I had ordered the gg&g a week ago, but I had not received it yet. Then I had a bad experience with a communication with someone there, so I asked them to cancel it. I've ordered from Briley before (right before they released the a300 handguard) and had a positive experience with them. You've convinced me that I should go with them again and cancelling my order is the right move. That thing looks sweet

How's the stock working out any issues? I have one coming and the gg&g tube cover , that hand guard mite be on my list but oh man that's pricy for now I wrapped the factory with some camo wrap
I’ve had no issues with the stock so far, not rotating on me like others have mentioned, I didn’t have luck with the GG&G handguard, but it sure looks awesome, I bet that wrap looks sweet though
@Timcanniff311 good too here on the stock , I needed a way to manage the surefire scout light cable and pressure pad so camo wrap works good , now I'm looking at red dots and wish they had a front tritium sight, I'm not sure how the front sight can be switched over tho , I've seen some list for 1301 and a300 with factory ghost ring sights
@@ninjascout468I have not looked into changing front sights yet, with the green circle I use in the holoson I don’t even notice the fiber optic color, and I got the flashlight on for night anyway, not sure if the front sight on the 300 can be replaced with anything, if so let me know, I’ve bought everything for this gun except that, so might as well spend more money
Is there any one else that feels like this is an over priced piece of crap? It’s all plastic! Everything about it is cheap plastic. Funny how all of the RU-vidrs push this plastic
The original beretta stock is plastic and so is the Mesa tactical stock, no wood available, maybe it saves a few ounces of weight, but no other options available
The issue is the design of the A300 you can’t use a metal folding styled stock and only GG&g has made a handguard for it out of a Magpul Zhukov handguard and selling it for $180. I have to e Messa stock and can say it’s pretty high quality but it could definitely be heavier duty and i am not a fan of the buttock plate the tab is easy as fu$k to break it feels. We need a aluminum handguard that’s still not too heavy. And a collapsible Benelli M4 style stock
@@Ohyouknowbro I did shoot the 300 last week and recoil seems about the same for Urbino for felt recoil but definitely more control with the pistol grip, now I like pistol grips some people dont

@@SkybassX that’s a hell of a price, mine was 950$ before taxes and shipping, but I’ve put more than 1500$ into with accessories, beware of the Zhukov handguard from GG&G, I shot my gun the other day and the handguard broke, I have a video on that, but briley has a all metal handguard now I just bought that yesterday but it’s expensive at 350$

@@SamSquids yes you could, if your ok with the handguard on it just keep it on there, gg&g has a decent one but briley in my opinion is the best looking and performing handguard, pro lifter is a fantastic upgrade, if your into pistol grip stocks mesa tactical, and soon chisel machining will be releasing a stock for the 300, good charging handle, but the newer versions of the 300 have the same charging handle as the 1301, metal tube cover if you have the 7 round tube is a good upgrade, and probably the most expensive is the optic, I run just irons on my 1301, I just sold my a300 to a friend cause I got a killer deal on a 1301 mod 2, or I would of just kept the 300
Man we need an install video. Some people been complaining about the stock rotating after shooting it. Don’t know if is an error on the installer or the Mesa Stock just not meant for the a300. Still on the fence in getting one.
I haven’t shot it with the stock on it yet so I’ll have to wait and see but I tightened the hell out of it it feels sturdy enough but time will tell, I could record me putting it back on
I just installed mine and was disappointed that there are no anti rotation pins.. i feel like if i dropped this the grip could potentially rotate. What are your thoights?

Hey Tim, nice bro...Is that the model 37? Im a 12 gauge fanboy as well and Ithaca is pretty much the only "major" manufacturer I'm really not familiar with. Im pretty sure they were used in Vietnam along with others, so that's good enough for me. Pretty reliable?
They are both model 37’s 8 shots, the police special was a variant of the model 37 back in the day, the model 37 was used in world war 2 as a trench gun 5 shot, and Vietnam trench gun variants and regular 5 shots, stories I’ve read is special forces like them Vietnam since the model 37 didn’t have a side eject, they load and eject from the bottom, the second gun in the video ( the bottom one) is a newer made model 37 Ithaca calls it their home defense gun, but it’s made exactly the same for 87 years now, I’ve shot all pumps and by far the Ithaca has the smoothest action of them all, but harder to load the first shot since it doesn’t have the side load capability
With the shells I’d say another pound, the shotgun is 7 pounds stock, so with all my modifications and fully loaded it’s probably in the 11-12 pound range
The kick off system is a spring loaded buttstock system if I’m not mistaken, I have not shot it with this stock on it yet, but I did have a limbsaver pad on the original beretta stock, it was very nice but slugs and heavy brass shells I could still feel, I do not have any experience with the kick off system so I can’t compare the two
Would you say this stock is worth it for the price? Does it change the felt recoil now that you have a pistol grip with stock combo vs the traditional stock? And if I do get this, should I get the riser? Can you do some range footage with this set up? I want to see if the recoil different is worth it
I think the pistol grip is better for heavier loads and easier with the push pull method for sure, I didn’t need the riser with the GG&G RMR mount and Holoson 507c, maybe if you put a red dot on the pic rail you would need the riser
Total badass setup . Have you had any issues with a weak mag tube spring ? If so what did you replace it with ? Also where did you find the limb saver recoil pad . I really hope someone makes a replacement stock for the a300 . I know it won’t be easy but I hate that cheap hollow crap it comes with. I absolutely love the magpul stocks . Hope magpul can pull it off
I’ve had no issues with my spring so far and Nordic components makes a spring for it, and a pistol grip stock exists for the 300 I have a video on my channel it’s from Mesa tactical, it just came out 2 weeks ago, Magpul can’t make a SGA stock for it due to the angle of their grip but the Mesa tactical Urbino stock is nice, and the only other option besides the beretta buttstock, I found the limbsaver buttpad on Amazon, it was a beretta limbsaver not specifically for the a300, but it fit perfectly
@@bige2259 the 1301 is the best shotgun in existence and totally want one but I’m 2400$ deep into the 300, and honestly it’s a fantastic gun, I really don’t need the 1301 after I’ve tricked this one out, the Magpul stock looks awesome wish it could fit on the 300, and if Magpul can pull off their stock for the 300 I’ll buy it, I think beretta makes a different stock for their hunting version of the 300, they also have a kick off system stock
Out of the box, I had to buy a Nordic spring due to the last round, which would FTF very often. About 150 rounds in and it hasnt happened. Just cut it to 14 inches from the end of the tube up
@@jakethesnake1245 I’m still using the stock spring but I did take out the end cap out of the magazine tube, and just use the tube cover as a stopper, but I should buy that Nordic spring

Oh she heavy I didn’t weigh it but it’s close to 70-80 lbs, but it does have wheels! it’s mainly for when I start to travel so I got all the guns in one box, but I got plenty other guns
I thought it wasn't possible to change the stock on the A300UP because of the recoil system that's contained within factory stock. Too bad you didn't take shots of the installation process.
The urbino stock is set up for the 300, the mossberg 930 has the same type of recoil system, so Mesa tactical just tweaked it a bit for the 300, it was extremely simple to install, remove buttpad off of the beretta stock remove bolt, reverse process with the urbino stock , it took me about 4 minutes, so if you do order it from Mesa tactical it’s under the 1301 beretta link
One thing I noticed about this pistol grip stock and now even the pistol grip stock of the 1301/1301 Mod.2 is the pretty extreme angle of the pistol grip. It's way more extreme than that of the Glock pistols compared to the "standard 1911" grip angle and I think a little more angled than the pistol grip stock of the Benelli M's. Is it uncomfortable to shoot?
@@markn4526 the grip on this stock is modeled after the benelli grip they can actually interchange with each other, feels very good in the hand, doesn’t feel unnatural to hold with the angle of the grip, I have not shot the gun with this stock yet, but this stock is the only option besides the stock that came with the A300UP
I ordered it from beretta Italy site it took a few weeks but it finally showed up, it’s a part often out of stock, maybe due to the 1301 mod 2 now using them , I just looked on the beretta site and it shows out of stock, maybe do the notify me email thing and hope it comes into stock soon cause it is a very awesome addition to my patrol. Forgot to mention this was about a year ago when I bought the lifter
