You guys used to have an employee there that tied the BEST stuff. It was all proprietary patterns; one of a kind. I've never caught so many fish in my life.
My box is typically- Foam “spiders”, ants, mosquitoes, then whatever is abundant at the time. Now that I’m adventuring into ‘game changers’ and heavier setups, I have a few favorites there. That said, I think it’s mostly the area and what you’re going for.
A small hopper pattern is always in my box for the summer months when you don’t see a specific hatch but the fish are still looking up. Great fly selection Ryan.
Very cool fly. Love it. The added weight is great, but like you said, with a black bead in the middle it serves as a wing pad. Will have to try some of these some day. I’ll be in soon to get the stuff 😂
Highly Recommend risen fly as a guiding service to I was relatively new to fly fishing for steelhead but after a day with Ryan I learned alot and at a very reasonable price
That is a good creek! My brother and i walked the creek from a FBC parking lot on Maitland Lane on the north side of the creek to down town New Castle decades ago.
Adam, 100% best looking flies of the bunch!!! You might poke a trouts eyes out with those pipe cleaners but.. You have the win for creativity and fly tying ability.. I think Ryan’s might and I say might fish better just depends on the species? So I’d be worried about that job!!! I think you need a fish off!! But with one non bias fisherman..
