Salesforce Ben was founded in 2014 to create a community of professionals who have something to share about Salesforce. You will find videos about Administration, Development, Certifications and Careers, all from professionals with varied experiences and backgrounds.
For those who have taken this exam, which certifications did you have prior besides for the Salesforce Admin cert? I have my Admin certification and am wondering if I should get my Sales and Service Cloud certifications before getting the Advanced Admin certification since it touches on both topics? Curious to hear others thoughts.
Very good presentation on an important topic often skipped in usual implementations. In particular, I salute the "Recovery-Ready" initiative when, all too often, the focus is "Nightly Backup". The one thing I still don't get (maybe another version of this talk?) is where you would restore. If Salesforce is down, you need to restore elsewhere. What is the workload to aim at a different set of servers for a customer? What is the impact on the end-users? Anyway, many thanks, Francois (PKB) Lopitaux.
How different is the difficulty of questions shown here in the video vs the exam? I was fairly comfortable with your questions but I am worried about the exam
Will you expand on, ' dynamic forms, records created via a lookup do not use dynamic forms'? Can you provide an example? Account created when new contact is created in Education Cloud/ Many Thanks,
Personally I like 1 Before create/update, 1 After create/update and 1 After delete flow per object. I see too many admins in orgs using an entire additional flow for a specific user story and its kind of mind boggling
I tried enabling the dynamic forms in Messaging Session Object and I don't see the component. Can you please let me know if this is not currently available on that object
Hi there! You won’t need to write any code but you will need to be able to read and understand snippets of code. E.g, a piece of code will be displayed and the question will ask what the outcome of this code running will be.
Hi there! You can check out our blog post on this here: www.salesforceben.com/build-your-own-ci-cd-pipeline-in-salesforce-using-github-actions/ Or, you can check out the GitHub Repository here: github.com/salto-io/salesforce-ci-cd-org-dev Hope this helps!
Affinity is the only one who paid for this video ;) I love how he said "Affinity has been kind enough to share a demo of their product" What a BS way to showcase sponsored content lol
Hi there! You definitely can use dynamic forms without the Accordion design, but it is recommended to use it because it helps to optimize the page load time.
I’ve been an implementation consultant since 2006! For the first time ever I feel like the jobs are getting sparse. Outsourcing is the biggest culprit. I used the think my job would be safe because I’m essentially working at an architect level but I’ve recently seen more of these jobs getting outsourced. I also think the increasing complexity of the platform is making it harder for mid-size companies to get any benefits from it. You basically have to get a developer to do any project in Salesforce. With most of those jobs outsourced to incompetent developers(who charge pennies on the dollar), it makes the onshore users extremely frustrated and burn out quicker. The writing is on the wall. Even if you continue to specialize, the job will eventually be replaced with someone/something cheaper. Hopefully I’m wrong but that’s not what I’m seeing.
Hi Angela, thank you for your insights! A lot of what you've covered are things that we've noticed as well, but we remain adamant that the industry hasn't collapsed or become stagnant. Yes, things have changed are continuing to change, but there are opportunities still available. Keep an eye out here and on our site over the next weeks as we plan to provide more detailed updates soon 🙌
I knew about Salesforce in 2010. A company I work at for a short period was using it and it was not very good back then. I wish I had decided to get into it back then but I didn’t start learning administration until 2022.
Why not call this what it really is, instead of making it sound like it is made by Salesforce? This is the 'Prodly DevOps Center' for Salesforce, not 'Salesforce DevOps Center'.
Hi, do I need to enable the Dev Hub as well? After enabling the source tracking, I refresh the sandbox but I'm still not able to add the sandbox in the pipeline, with error saying that i should enable the source tracking.
Hi there! After you enable Source Tracking in Sandboxes, Developer and Developer Pro Sandboxes that you create or refresh have Source Tracking are enabled automatically. This means that you don’t need to have Dev Hub enabled to enable Source Tracking in Sandboxes. Hope this helps!
Hey, you have another alternative Salesforce inspector Advanced with many more features (SOSL, apex runner, inline edit, comment and format of query, suggestion of relation in SOQL, ...)
