When you do a private pocket dig at twin creek Bobby the owner gets the pocket ready for you. But you have to get the pieces out yourself. The last part of the day Bobby helped us a bit because I didnt have the proper bar to pry it out. So currently we have bought the proper bigger bars to get it own 100% on our own next time. This was our first ever pocket dig. We paid $500 and left with over $3000 in crystals. 😎😀
Yes unfortunately for diamond mountain we didnt we didn't record mining due to the fact it was moreless scouting and going over the area. All of our finds here were surface collecting. We are headed back later this year in early Oct. to get a great video out. Stay tuned for that one.
If you decide on paying the $500 for 4hrs. You keep all you find. If you pay the $250 for four hours, then yes you are limited. When we went there were no limits at that time.
yall should try going car parts store and pick up a autobody set of plastic prybars. i think its just much gentler ... just a thought... and why dont you use meratic acid ? idk about my spelling... lol but thanks for the vidz.. i wanna try this soon
Great job guys I enjoyed watching your finds. I did two days digging there last season. Nothing beats dirt digging like that. I’ve been mining Herks for 10+ yrs and heard plenty of stories from old timers of palmers coming out left and right like this from these easy digging decomposed pocket layers. Filling up 5 gallon buckets full of crystals. For me it was like getting into a time machine to go back to “the good old days” I heard so many stories about. I have many crystals from here too that are reactive to UV light I thought that was really interesting. Chad and his family are great people. Those two days of digging where total bucket list experiences for me, worth every penny. I tipped Chad on my second visit with a bunch of Bison steaks from a farmer in my town.
Its twin creek crystal mine in mt ida arkansas. They don't have amythest crystals, but they have beautiful quartz crystals, phantom crystals, and possibly some smokey but rare. We are going back the second week of april for another pocket dig. Pocket digs start at $300 and go up as high as $1000 or more. But its a lot of work. You'll need a 3-4 lbs sledge hammer, pry bars, screw drivers and or picks. And garden kneelers for your knees. You'll have to beat it out. It took me between 4-6 hours to get it all out.
Wow you guys took home some amazing pieces! Twin Creek has always been my favorite, and this is another video that proves why they are one of the best mines in Arkansas 👍
My only question is this: When I go out collecting I usually wind up putting a few specimens in my case. With all the crystals you found what do you do with them? Certainly you can't display all of them so I assume you must sell. Otherwise, after you make four or five trips you would be burried in crystals
We display the bigger pieces, the others we have in bins. One day we plan to sell some, but for now we just like to collect them. It's hard to pick which ones to part with.
Greetings. Is a cool video but when you take out the ceistals out of the earth you don't yanked force them out because it happens what you expirience they all broke. What you do is work around and one by one with just a move it and soft movements will get loose. Aorry if i make any mistakes in writing is because my main language is spanish.
So many great pieces!! I was going to comment so many times...(insert time stamp) "this one's my favorite." Then 30 seconds later, "No, this one's my favorite." 30 seconds later, "No, this one's my favorite!" Ha! You guys did great! I'm going to have to get a pocket dig this spring, if I can. I have never done a pocket dig there at Twin Creek before, so it'll be a good experience for me.
You guys got a lot of great finds! That phantom at 19:40 is amazing....that piece at 16:15 is really interesting too. That yard at the end though....maaaaan...you guys going to keep the yellow staining on there, or will you put it in some Iron out so you can see those phantoms a little better, maybe? I think it'll be beautiful either way, tbh.
