CIHEAM is an intergovernmental organization working for sustainable agriculture and fisheries in the Mediterranean region. It is composed of 13 member countries (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey).

CIHEAM Zaragoza is the headquarters of the organization in Spain. It was created in 1969 and is located on the Aula Dei Campus, one of the most prestigious in agriculture and food research in the country. From this top-level scientific and technical hub, the Institute offers training of international excellence and promotes research and cooperation to address the main challenges facing agriculture, livestock, fisheries, the environment and natural resources in the Mediterranean.
