Ausgrid operates the electricity network in parts of NSW, Australia and we're sharing videos about our work. If there are any topics you'd like to know more about, let us know at news@ausgrid.com.au.

You money hungry grubs.. We are paying the highest energy costs in the world and now you are going to charge solar panel users more for producing power? Your all the same $$$ that’s all it’s about. Stop with the renewables BS because nobody in their right mind is buying it only those with kickbacks, such as yourselves! 🤮
It's not there to charge cars, Is there simply as a 60kWh pilot considering expansion to stabilise the grid peaks and troughs. It contains enough energy to run about three houses for 3 days. When there are thousands of these spread across the network, it will make an enormous difference
Thank you this was very helpful, however, i still believe that just getting my self a Sense Power monitoring device that can monitor my total power usage would be best as it will calculate everything for you and be pretty close to the actual bill. My meter has 5 of those little number things with the arrows. Thank you again. This video deserves way more thumbs up.
Seems overly big and over engineered for what is essentially an MSB and charging station. Why does it need LCD panels for advertising/marketing directed to the street traffic? Would this be a distraction to drivers? Has glare from the screens been considered and approved by the road authority, or is this snuck under Part 5 of the EP&A and self determined?
Yeah you have a great point. Not like you see hundreds of billboards, advertisements, logos while driving. This tiny one is a big no no! I wonder if the advertising helps fund the free charging? nah... it couldn't. best remove this as it's a distraction. LOL get a life
@@jarviswilson-short5512 Labelling it as 'free' charging and suggesting it's paid for by advertisers is hypocritical. Just because you don't pay for it on the spot, doesn't mean that you (and the community) are not paying for it elsewhere. How much do you think they are paying to fill the pockets of shareholders from both Ausgrid and Jolt to ensure the venture is worthwhile (let alone cover R&D and general upkeep costs)? Did you know that one of the advertisers is currently in the media for rorting their customers at the till too? But then again I suppose advertising is everywhere, all approvals are simply inferred and it's perfectly acceptable to deploy it over what was once a state owned asset in the seemingly most impractical method possible? Your comment seems out of touch with reality.
Was the substation existing? And the EV charging module designed go over top? What about ventilation to existing sub? Can u link more specific details for this installation?
You can control the electricity price in Ausgrids favor during the day the price goes up more than usual and when everyone is home and cooking dinner the price goes up between 250% and 400% all in Ausgrids favor. the only time it is in the customers favor is when everyone is in bed and not using very much electricity you then pay half rate. WOW and thanks for looking after us Ausgrid. You are a bunch of thieves!!!!
The EDMI ATLAS Mk7C meter shown when the voice says "Unlike smart meters, electronic meters do not have communications systems", DOES have the capability for cellular communications. (2G/3G/4G/LTE supported) and is used in Sydney in some of these meters. Nothing wrong with smart meters, but this video is not accurate and just making the political problem worse. ref: www.edmi-meters.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mk7C-Factsheet-English.pdf
This video is poor very poor. Yes electronic meters that have to be ready by a meter reader coming to the property do exist but the so called one in the video is a EDMI ATLAS Mk7C It is a Smart meter and is read remotely by the electricity supply firm But it has no indoor display unit as standard I understand it was intended for the commercial market So it is 100% Smart meter but cannot be read internally in the normal way but it does have • Up to 3 independently working communication ports: - Optical port: FLAG (IEC 62056-2 does anyone understand if they can be used by the average person If not the meter is a smart meter but with no internal display unit
Im urgently trying to get a response to a question about community batteries and to get someone to come a talk to our village community with the intention of proceeding a.s.a.p with a community battery. Can someone from Ausgrid help please
@@sypher0101 I think he just referring to the meter. If the hand of the meter is directed at a number, check the right dial. If the right dial passed 0, then use the number pointed by the dial. If the dial did not pass 0 , then use the lower number.
There is a tree in front of our house. We have been taking good care of the tree over the years since we moved here in 2007. About one month ago, Austgrid trimmed the tree for the clearance of the power line. I fully understand the importance and the necessity for trimming the tree to have a 1-meter clearance distance and have no hesitation to be cooperative. However, I do not understand WHY Austgrid had to leave the tree in such an awful shape? Trees are such an important part of the house and the suburb that it resides in. Could Austgrid take little bit more care and leave the tree in a more reasonable shape whilst still generating the necessary clearance for powerlines?
Except the reading for the meter at 1:25 is wrong. The tens dial is a 1 not a 0. Source: this is what I do for a living and train others how to do everyday. I was trying to find a training video to help explain the process, but since this is wrong I can't use it.
