What about Windows MTRs with a touch console? Pretty sure that whiteboard is not available on the screen, but can you have controls on both touch panel AND front of room display?
Whiteboard is available both on Windows and Android Microsoft Teams Rooms. With the Windows and Android MTR devices, you will need a touch screen at the front of the room to engage in the room with the whiteboard and you should speak to the manufacturer about compatibility.
Individual signals can be suppressed in PMP by selecting the Show All Signals slider, selecting the signal, and then clicking on the suppress button under the Active tickets header.
Just set up one MTRoW with one 16:9 screen and layout has this chat area. on/off chat toggle on console only shows or hides chat text but black area stays always which is unused space. I gues when i turn off chat then layout should change automatically and resize the content and people to full screen, right? Is that currently a global bug or maybe local bug or by design?
21:11 Conflicting information ⚠️ - Together mode FYI I just checked on my MTRoW for together mode and I could start it without needing 9 other participants
The best solution for Microsoft Teams customers for any of their shared spaces is Microsoft Teams Rooms. Customers should work with their account teams to understand why the MTR device can give you a substantial ROI for all of your Microsoft technology including Teams and Copilot.
Most of the MTR units are capable of upgrading to Windows 11 so that should be a part of your upgrade path. Our manufacturing partners are shipping with units on Windows 11 now.
This was a great presentation! I was planning to get up at midnight to join from Australia, but sadly I forgot so great it was recorded and posted! I'm really hoping that loop meeting notes/agenda will eventually come as an option instead of raised hands in front row. For surface hub coordinated join I'd love to be able to use XML to turn off incoming video, hide the calendar widget and focus on content (you've got main display for the video feeds). Also would love the room remote to be able to turn off/on the chat and focus on content. I'll have to give together mode another try, I could have sworn a recent update meant you didn't need to wait for 9 participants. I'd love the ability to have together mode on by default for a classroom system and be able to set a default background that isn't the out of the box one (black screen is my fav). Very excited to try out multi cam!
I’m setting up Yealink MVC S40. I’ve created an MS account and purchased Teams Room Pro license only. This doesn’t seem to work. Do I need to assign E1 license as well for the account to work with my AV solution?
You should not need any other license than a Teams Room Pro license. I'm not sure what doesn't work means, but it might be best to open a ticket within your tenant to have Microsoft support assist. The Teams Rooms pro license should just need to be applied to the account that is on the Teams Rooms device and everything should work.
Many of our partners who manufacture MTRoA devices do have options for a content camera to work with their MTR devices. The challenge is that Android is not a plug and play driver OS and the device drivers need to be supported by the manufacturer. MDEP might be something that will help this in the future as well.
Hi Mo, nice vid. Can you illustrate how a collegue will book a desk , can they book a desk from a floorplan ? or do they do need to select a random number. ?
You would need to be a partner to get to the learning paths as that is behind a password site. Some of that training is available at Avixa's website as well and the events that we are holding monthly are welcome to anyone. Microsoft does have the ability for people to sign up as partners and you should investigate that as Microsoft is a partner driven company.
You best solution for updating Teams Rooms on Windows is through the Pro Management Portal. That will allow you to put units into "rings" which is similar to the way that Microsoft updates M365.
in the last step of assigning the account to the device in the pro portal, with one of my customers the resource accounts are not showing up. any tips ?
Make sure if there is something not working to open a trouble ticket so that support can look into the logs. My thought is that maybe the XML is not formatted correctly?
@@TeamsRoomsTechTalk haha yea i always try to avoid that. I noticed the synchronization from exchange to MTR portal takes 48h approx. Also good to know when you hide your rooms from GAL they will not appear in the MTR portal. Issue solved by waiting 👍🏽
For anyone wanting to add the deployment of the teams room update tools (MTR Provisioning Tool) into Intune, be sure to have the version 1.0.8952.37815. The previous version do not update the app correctly. Go grab the version in the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal (home tab known Issues).
I am having issues with the device not automatically signing in post MTRP provisioning running. The resource account association does not show as consumed, and the MTRP provisioning tool errors out trying to install the teams room software. Anyone running into this? Thought it may have been due to running 23H2 but moved it to 22H2 and same issue.
@@TeamsRoomsTechTalk Thanks for the response. After working with MS support, they provided more information on undocumented requirements for Autopilot. It would be nice to see Autopilot Implemented in the same way other Windows OS deployments in that they have no dependence on the OEM image.
@@Death_0000 It's not documented. I only found out about it via a support case I had open with MS. They said it was not supported on devices without the vendor image or MTR already being configured on the device previously.
Thought the reason for having a bookable space would be to stop you from going to the office without a desk booked. What is the reporting like. 8 desks for a workspace? how do you decide which desk you are sitting at? BYOD devices, apparently the licensing is really expensive, more so than actually buying everyone a laptop.
I was confused too but he misused the word "workspace". he meant 8 workspaces/desks to a desk-pool. Workspaces are always one to one to the desk but you can use desk-pools to assign one license to multiple desks/workspaces (save money) in the management portal, you can configure each workstation as bookable. While you can apply a workplace license to a single desk/workspace, if you apply one workstation license to a desk pool, you would be sharing that single license across multiple workstations thus making it a fraction of the cost individually licensing each station- hope this helps
Great video. Are you able to show us how to do the backgrounds and the skype setting xml? I set up the backgrounds a couple of years ago and not touched it since and now want to look at how to have the backgrounds change everynight to a random pic in a folder. I have all the pics in a folder in the skype location and just change the xml and image when management get bored of it. Looking to make everything as automated as possible and adding to Intune is the first step. Thanks
Interesting to listen to, although not particularly better than the docs online. We are currently looking to trial this. Would be nice if you mentioned where youwere going to post more about this.
Hi Adrian, there is also a blog post here techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/get-the-most-out-of-any-teams-rooms-meeting-with-speaker/ba-p/4182595 What else would you need to get started. Maybe we can help
@@TeamsRoomsTechTalk Thanks, I had not seen that article, I think it is a helpful high level overview. We are trying to trial this ATM, our issue is not technical, it is privacy based. As soon as the room is enabled people are individually identified even if it is with a generic identifier if they are not enrolled. Some people have concerns over this that I need to address when I trial this. It might just be if you do have concerns, please use a different Teams Room.
Great Video very informative. I have the autopilot build up and running but on the teams room portal the account is stuck on syncing. Is there a delay on how long this takes to be done? Account has a teams room pro licence etc.
There are many factors that might delay the completion of the device, so giving a specific amount of time might not be the best. Your best bet is to check the account logs in admin center to see if there might be an authentication issue or something else preventing the device from logging in.
No worries, mate! Thanks for the top-notch video. I'm hitting a snag, though. Once everything's sorted and the device boots up, it gets stuck on the screen where Teams is loading. It says, "experiencing some issue, please try again," and gives me the choice to either restart or go to settings. The settings option doesn't seem to work, and the loop just keeps on going. In the pro management portal, the provisioning status hasn't budged from "ready" to "consumed." Any idea where I might be going wrong? Can you give me a hand, please? Cheers!
I wonder if you were possibly using a version on the device that was not "Autopilot ready?" It could be a number of things. Best bet is to open a support ticket so they might be able to help.
@@TeamsRoomsTechTalk it’s new surface hub 3 windows 11 iOT MTR versions which should be compatible enough . Newest one in the market . Yeah looks like support ticket is the way to go. I hate going down that path usually premier support is a shit show !
Would be good if these technical exams etc were available to end users. UC specialists at large companies do more than commissioning techs at integrators, vendors, partners.
How do I remove teams rooms from my surface hub 3? I need to use it as my personal device and not with teams? It loses whiteboard work, can't save and clears down, that is a terrible experience, the unit is more like a dead brick.
Quick question: we recently switched from the std license to the pro license for all our rooms. But my rooms are not showing up in the rooms page of pro portal. they are correctly assigned the pro license for over a week now. And still no sign of them in pro portal, rooms tab. Any idea ?
You should run the test tool and see what this says might be the issue. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/troubleshoot/teams-rooms-and-devices/monitored-offline-status-unhealthy#run-the-teams-rooms-pro-agent-test-tool
Hi, thanks for the comment, and noted. This is a new feature from Microsoft that I was lucky to get insights on, not all the features are available yet, but as soon as I get the screenshots or videos of the booking experience, I'll be sure to share on another episode.
