Had the TM, ported the head and tried to get more power. Bought a new RM 125 when it came out in 75' for $749 at teh dealership - Couldn't afford the ($300+) dealer markup they wanted for the Elsinore 125 I was drooling over. Still love that Castrol R smell!
Had one that was mint I sod for a 125 bucks in the 90s when I was just married and needed money. I’m 6ft 3 and was about 250 then I had tons of all different 70s thru 80s jap 2 strokes all ones I rescued and revived and the Tm 125 to me had the spunk of a 250
for anyone not familiar with starting a kick start bike with a carburettor that is not EFI, when cold > full choke no throttle, when hot > no choke 1/4 throttle, don't keep constantly twisting the throttle open and closed (you will flood the carb) and remember it does not take much to move a piston up and down that is the size of a salt seller. if you weigh 15 stone and stamp on the kick-starter pedal repetitively you will snap it or strip the threads on the shaft, fresh fuel, new plug, ignition timing set correctly, won't start, buy a workshop manual.
I had one of the first ones to hit the Texas market back in the day. Raced all over winning and winning until the Honda Elsinore showed up on the scene.
Soon I hope. Lungs have damage from Iraq 2004. Starting to become an issue 16 years later. You can hear me breathing quite heavy in some of my videos. So that is the cause. I plan on making a return....

Nice to see another TM125 come back to life!!! I bought one brand new December 1974. Sold it in 1976 found and bought SAME bike back in 1995 or so. Still titled in my dads name. You'rs looks pretty nice!!! Hard to find original front number plate. Contact me if you need parts. Steve. :)
At Indiana race, I got 7th out of 13. First lap bike stalled and had a hard time gettying it restarted, was a problem all day. Turns out it was the fuel I was using.
