I just did the same procedure on my daughter's samsung microwave yesterday. The lower plastic tab had broken just like here, and the solution was the metal frame bracket to hinge the lower end of spring like shown here.
corebaraka is my channel just subscribed thanks my brother going to triy Out of all of the videos I’ve seen to help fix this issue, you are the only one that has it simple enough for everyone to understand. Thank you.
In my case, the door latch hook is broken on one side. My microwave is part of a dual unit with the oven. 14 yrs old and most likely not even available to buy now. The plastic right side hook broke off and the microwave won’t work, nor the light turn off. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you!!
Thanks! This fixed my issue. I didn't realize the cover just snaps on and off. I gave up after not seeing any screws to take out! For me, both the spring loop on the door and the hook on the latch were broken. I drilled a small hole in the latch near where the hook broke off and put the spring through that. Then I hooked the other end on the metal tab like you showed in your video!
Well this saved me big time!! Especially with a new baby and needing to warm water frequently!! No one else explained what was broken and how to fix it for free! Worked like a charm; with the bonus of latching it to metal instead of plastic. Thank you!!!
Thank you very much . Watched your video how you repaired the door latch I did same it worked. Try to call repair all busy . So I took apart and fix it my self great and thank you.
@Reddogmr57 I want to thank you for this video. I had a problem where my DONGFANG250 bike would not throttle right. I was trying to support from the people I got the bike which would take time until I came across your video. It saved me alot of time and headache. I tested it out yesterday and to much success it works! Thanks again sir.
Awesome! Glad it worked for you! If I still had this bike I might use something different for long term use so it doesn't wear out the slot guide in the slide. Like use plastic, brass or zinc, softer metals. What was originally there was a piece of plastic, which makes sense, because you don't want metal to metal contact and wear. The steel key stock is all I had at the time.
Thanks for this! I was looking at replacing the switches, never thought about the latch. Your detail was great and I did use a butter knife to remove the bezel. The broken part was the latch itself, where the spring hooks on. I used my Dremel tool to create a notch to hook the spring. It's back in business. Hopefully this will last another 12 years.
Thank you for the video. My issue is a little different, the plastic part where the latch sits on is broken (on the microwave door side). Any ideas how I can fix it? Superglue/hot glue perhaps?
Thank you. Your video saved me $$$. I thought I was buying a replacement door, but was able to make the repair in an hour. as the top clip broke off from the door. After watching your vid, I used a little epoxy and all is good. Just two days before Thanksgiving.
Thanks very much, I had exactly the same problem, I was easily able to fix my microwave door in the same way after watching your video, I saved myself a lot of money in calling out a repair company who would no doubt have said I that I needed a new door.
Thank you sir! Big help to know I could slide the handle off. Without doing this I couldn’t remove the ice tray from our tight corner fridge space. I have squirt hot water at the icemaker water supply channel because it had frozen up, but then I had a big block of frozen ice in the ice tray! Gonna be good now I think 😊
DUDE!!!!!! I have the same microwave and it stopped working just like this, but I wasn't sure what the problem was. I was looking for a vid on tearing out the internal door switches to test when I saw your vid! You just saved me HOURS of wasted time and frustration. I followed your method and it worked just like before. Thanks a million for posting this!!!
