Chin up Sam, you fought well and hard like a true champ. It really is astounding you managed to get close as you did after RSR, really shows how strong you are. Keep pushing onwards mate, you got this 💪
Love the new vid mate, bit of a short one this time. Don’t be glum about the result, you did what you could. You’ll come back even stronger next race 💪🔥
Appreciate it, it’s just really hard to get videos when dad is in the pits and I can only get videos when I go past the pits, but that’s when he needs to do pit stuff! 😂
Lots of small crashes , I hit 2 trees, saw someone else do the same. Its so relentlessly bumpy and twisty there's a good chance of hitting something or sliding off. Cannock has a lot of round pebbles rather than just grit so like riding on marbles in places.
Yeah it was insanely slippery, hope you are ok? I noticed some of the stones where I couldn’t get out the saddle on climbs because of the lack of traction. The gravel was the worst! 😂
@SamGenazzini yeah minor injuries, bruised shoulder. I ride on the Chase regularly and the pebble gravel is tricky as it's not everywhere, you'll go round a corner and there it is 😄 I ride a retro 26" , 90s stuff, it's a right handful but chopped down bars , 40mm forks and fairly narrow tyres are fun and tbh I was racing in the 1990s and this was normal. No way was I going to do the rock garden or big drops. If you fancy doing old school racing there's a retro event at Cannock in July as part of the summer classic. There were 30 plus last race , pre 2000 bikes, carnage. Just borrow uncle Fred's vintage Kona and give it a go. Allez Allez Allez. 🙂
Bad luck Sam with the injury. Hope you have a swift recovery. Nice to see the on-bike footage. Might be interesting to play around with the settings on it as the 'Sharpness' seemed a bit high - it can make footage look a bit too clean and unreal. It's a personal preference but could be useful to play around with it and see what you prefer.
