Not even close to be the richest country in the world. Still bullcrap rules. Played 4 seasons with Seattle. It gets more clear and better after a season or two when the rules get cemented in your memory but I will never again play in the US.
You think MLS makes no sense, try to unpack the other professional leagues in the US pyramid. It is funny how current teams have brought back the names of teams in the NASL (Seattle, Portland, San Jose, Tampa Bay) despite the chaotic mess it became.
I really hope fm25 works on the AI on the team building. It feels strange to see them attempt to add womens soccer before fixing something that is so crucial to enjoying the game.
As an American who as a kid loved and wanted to play soccer I will tell you why soccer just isn't popular over here. "dad can you sign me up for a soccer team" me at 7ish years old. "No, soccer is g**, and you aren't g**. You will play baseball and basketball. Those are sports for real men."
I would like to believe that MLS has generally been more measured with its growth and expansion than past leagues, but that’s questionable when you consider that it will have added 12 teams from 2015-2025. The expansion of the Leagues Cup and the attempt to skip the US Open Cup this year does make me worry that MLS is now buying into its own hype a little too much. A sixth sin that I think can be added is overemphasis of playoffs, in terms of both number of teams and duration. One common issue is that there is always an international break in the middle of the playoffs, derailing any momentum from the early rounds to the point where people forget the playoffs are still happening in late November. The expansion to 18 teams and the return to best-of-threes last year was also very unpopular among fans (I personally hate it).
Having just completed an MLS save (look for a video tomorrow), I agree with you 100% - especially about the playoffs. We waited something like 3 months to get to the next playoff round. It's ridiculous. The salary system appears to be set up to reward mediocrity, and provides a huge incentive for talented and young native players to go abroad as soon as possible. It's a mess.

I don’t think there is a proper way to do a youth academy challenge, as long as you’re having fun that’s all that matters (I.E) I’m doing a DOF save with Llanidloes Town in welsh second division and I used the In game editor to make the previous head coach my assistant and I also added 5k in funds to help the club (being realistic as cash injections is common with new incoming owners)
Asking the real questions. Seriously - I've been watching broadcasts of old NASL games, and am flabbergasted by how complicated the commentators make the sport sound. It's a simple sport. You can learn how football is played by watching it for like 30 minutes, lol.
A bit late but to add on your point on pace and speed. Usain Bolt when he tried to play in Australia was absolutely lethargic and his touch was comparable to bouncing a basketball. He was honestly woeful against Professional teams in the A-League and the only game he was good at was agaisnt amatuers (which coincidentally the team doesn't exist anymore being part of a merger to form A-League side MacArthur FC)
THe only problem with this idea is that pace is imortant for every position. Which means if you add pace to all players you are getting an effective boost in 10 positions out of 11. If you increase passing and vision, yes, it's important for all positions but not as much, defenders can benefit from passing but not as much as from pace, same with forwards. so it'd be interesting comparing a team with all the same attributes but chaging the midfielders boost on pace to passing, and the rest keep pace. see if a team is better if theirmidfielders have pace or passing
That's actually not true - and every single test of the subject I've seen contradicts this idea. Passing and vision are completely useless in the game engine. Try it sometime. Build a team with the fastest defenders you can find. Focus only on pace and acceleration. Let me know how it goes.
@@danielevensen84 thats what i'm saying, pave is important for most positions while passing is not that important for all positions. I'm not saying the engine isent f*cked up but again, if you put a team with 20 in finishing vs a team with 20 in pace, well, guess what, team with 20 in pace will do better because 3 or 4 players benefit from finishing and 10 from pace
