God gifts us all with different blessings. He belssed you both with the gift of beauty. There are many in this world that he did not gift with that blessing. It always concerns me when someones first attribute they look for is beauty- even the bible says not to focus on outward beauty but the inward beauty. What do you imagine people who were not gifted with the blessing of beauty do when they make a list of attributes to look for in their spouse- I imagine its a more God- centered, humble list. I believe we will be tested by God in the area he gifts us in. For example, people who are gifted with beauty will be tested for arrogance, pride, judgemnet, vainty, being shallow etc toward the people who are not also gifted in this area(treating them differently), or will be jealous and compete with the others who are also gifted in this area. People who are not gifted with beauty but with brains for example will also be tested if they will be prideful, judgemental etc towards those who are not gifted in this area or compete with those who are. Narcassim is an attribute of satan, not God- so please be careful. I see Sutton as a humble genuine woman of God- I feel Nate has some work to do. But I wonder if God may have paired them together so that Nate's helpmate helps him to see what it looks like to be pure of heart like God has created in Sutton through His spirit.
I disagree when nate said you need to be "happy" alone first. God said in his word that he created woman for man because it is not good for man to be alone. Naturally a man would not feel complete without his other half and likewise, the woman by God's design would not feel happily complete without being the helpmate of the one she was created for so that the man wouldn't be alone. Also, the woman was made from the rib being taken from the man and given to the woman, symbolizing he is not complete without her. I do however agree that you focus on seeking the kingdom first and letting God add all things unto you as scripture says, but don't try to force and fake yourself into being " happy" when you know God has created you to be complete and happy within the marriage covenant with the one he created you from the very rib of/ created you to be the helpmate of and created for you so you would not be alone (men)
I have to be honest, its disturbing to listen to Sutton's husband nate speak on these topics knowing that he wanted a virgin wife for himself only to continue viewing porn after they met- like a double standard. He wanted someone pure for his selfish desires while not caring to keep himself pure for her. That to me is extremely disturbing. I am aware that after Sutton's heart was broken that he then said he stopped, but the fact that he even put her through that tells me the mind and heart of this man is tainted and with his responses it appears its still unclean. Also, anything a man doesn't do on his own out of the conviction from God and for the sake of the woman is not a genuine change of heart. This is changed behavior based on reward like a dog, not changed behavior due to a genuine change inside the heart for God's righteousness. Those objectifying perspectives will keep showing up one way or another even if porn is never viewed again.
What man in the Bible didn't pursue his wife and the wife pursued him? If a man doesn't initiate moves I would not say for the women to do so, I'd say foe the woman to find a man man enough to take the lead.
Ive been sick for 1.5 years. Home bound. I found out my husband has been hiding a porn addiction from me for 5 years. And hidding messages from women. He has had a porn addiction since 2nd grade. I am so hurt and crushed. Pls pray for me and my husband. I feel like i dont even know this man anymore
What I found most inspiring about your story is that you did not meet in church. Pretty much every single cristian love story starts in the church or somewhere where the church is involved! 😅
So sad when churchgoers publicly project their sexual shame and guilt feelings after breaking their self-imposed rules and groupthink conditioning. It’s a weird, mind-bending thing to do. Some porn is toxic, but a lot of it is just people having a good time enjoying their sexuality without fear of hell and social pressure.
What's cool too is that even though I don't feel your husband is " unattractive" he's not the type of attraction that catches my eye- but he is for YOU and that's all that matters! So God protected you from other guys not being attracted to you(although you are also attractive) and visa versa for your husband in the eyes of other women in order to save you for eachother! I was in Flordia when I was 19 searching for a job and apartment for when I would move down there for college and I was all by myself. I stayed at a cheap hotel and was very much seeking my options and opportunities in life, holding nothing back and being open to everything and anything that God may have for me. One day a guy saw me at the hotel, of which he was staying at as well, and asked me out for dinner later that night- he was significantly older than me and although I was not interested in him I thought, "what the heck why not I'm here alone and it's someone to talk to- although he won't be my husband maybe God wants to use him to lead me to a different opportunity or something." So I told him my hotel # and he showed up at the time we were to go out for dinner but just before he showed up I had SEVERE menstrual cramps to the point of crying and calling my mom to pray for me, and while he was knocking relentlessly over and over (almost in a harassing inappropriate manner) I started feeling scared and now started asking my mom to pray for this guy to go away and protection from him(I didn't have this strong of a negative feeling toward him initially, but I also was not being prayerful and kind of following my own desires a lot during that time as well) and God later revealed that he allowed me to go through the immense pain of those cramps to protect me from going out with that unsafe guy that night. Praise God! We don't always understand at the time why we have to endure unpleasant things but we can always trust it's for our good!
Congratulations you guys! Sutton, I know you had an early miscarriage in the past. Does that affect your excitement or make you nervous? I just had my first chemical pregnancy and I’m praying to be pregnant again really soon. I hope I won’t be anxious the whole time

My husband and I were both Christian virgins on our wedding night. Our first kisses were at the wedding altar. I felt afraid that our first time together would be awkward but I really do believe God dumps an extra blessing on those who sacrifice and willing to wait. It was something we were equally experiencing for the first time and as they said...that made it less awkward and so celebratory! We had both waited SO long for this moment that we actually felt relief instead of dread. We have now been married 27 years and have had many years to grow together and learn new things about this bonding experience that keeps it fresh. I just found out recently that my husband has been using pornography really a lot… it has ended our marriage… we’ve been together 25 years! I had no idea, but I could feel something was wrong for a long time…it was a relief in some ways to find out, but also devastating! He got together with another woman within days of me finding out!!!
