I was so thrilled with how our son's first birthday celebrations turned out. I want to remind you that you don't need to meet some impossible standard in order to enjoy your child's birthday ☺
My mom taught me the same thing…to clean as you go. Makes such a difference, and a good reminder that our children will remember what we tell them about cleaning as well :)
I love homemaking/DITL vlog videos. So I found your channel. I have enjoyed seeing the glimpses of a lovely simple life that is very relatable for new wives/homemakers/mothers. Your approach with authenticity and simplicity while being so diligent at taking care of your home and family is beautiful to see. You got a new subscriber 😊
Just found you on instagram & that’s how I discovered your channel! This was a great video; very insightful for me as a SAHM & homemaker trying to simplify my life. Subscribed! 😊
Omg you’re my person! We did basically exactly the same! I never liked any radical way and picked some things from all the different approaches.. It was basically only thing I knew before having my kids - I need us to sleep 😅 my kids absolutely love to sleep! Good quality sleep is everything 🙌 I was a bit scared of the pacifier, but they had no issue getting rid of it..
I am a nurse, and I can tell you, if you eat a well balance meal from the 4 basic food groups you do not need to take vitamins or supplements if all your lab values are within normal. When you take added supplements, your body knows what it needs, and all the extra vitamins/supplements are excreted in your urine. It is a waste of money. Companies will tell you need them just to make money off from you.
I am game for second-hand clothes, books, CDs and so on. The only thing i dont agree on is haircut. I rather give money to my salon for the right haircut. I have frizzy hair and cannot take the chance. I also dont use make-up except for coloured lip balm. i never understood the concept of makeup.. i usuallly attend book sales which gets me decent books at great price.
I loved this so much! This is exactly what I’ve done with all 7 of our babies and been so happy with the results. Baby #8 due in October and I plan on the same, Lord willing. Thank you for being willing to share (it IS a tough topic) and your humility. You are a good mom!
I saved tons of money by doing my own hair and don’t use Netflix or Disney plus anymore another more money saved including passing on my consoles to an relative due to not playing video games because I have no time for them. Due to focusing on the garden plus traveling during the spring and summer season . Lastly be getting rid of dvds and Blu Rays that I no longer need or watch also due to concentrating on my TikTok career and on other platforms .
I really enjoyed your phone tips at the end. I actually developed chronic dry eyes due to excessive social media usage. If i heard your tips before i surely would be in a better position than i am in now.
I used to spend so much on haircuts and spa, but I have cut those down. I stopped highlighting my hair ($200 everytime) and went and had a bob cut. I do my roots and lasered off my body hair so I dont spend now on waxing or facials. I also go only for mani/pedi on special occasions. I buy vintage clothes and bags that are better quality and better brands. I buy furniture and decor from Marketplace. I dont use a lot of makeup. I use affordable BB cream for my face, lipgloss, lipstick and blush and thankfully blessed with good eyebrows and long lashes. I love perfumes, but buy mid-priced ones that last a long time. I have a company phone, so no phone bills. We own 1 car and I carpool to work. Our car is 10+ years old and fully paid off. We buy groceries weekly and only what we can only consume. I bring my lunch to work and dont buy designer coffee and rarely buy food now at work. We dont have pets. We have one child, and we contributed to his college fund right from birth. We used to enrol him in pricey after-school activities and tutorials, but we narrowed it down to just his one jnterest per year and used an online tutorial for him (ixl.com) from age 7 onwards. He is now 19 and enroled in a computer engineering course in one of the top universities. Canada has free healthcare so thats also a plus..no med bills and eyecare as well as dental are covered by our employers. Hubby and I commissioned a contractor to build a walk-in closet that costs $10k so I agreed we shd cut down our food ordering and eating outs to compensate for the big spend. We planted cedars around our home and maintain our lawn, but we dont grow other plants that wd cost a lot of gardening and upkeep. But most of all…more than cuttung costs here and there, we invest. I stopped carrying credit card balances (I was terrible in the past), max out our pension contributions, invested in real estate that we rent out and diversified investments into dividend paying stocks. Am 51 and planning to retire in the next 2 years. Not bad for us immigrants to North America from poor countries who came here in our early 30s with next to nothing, and had parents to financially support. The golden rule still holds merit: dont spend what you dont have, keep saving, get financially literate and be wise where to spend money on.
Laura, good for you that you are planting a garden for the first time. We have had a garden for years and fresh veg is awesome, especially tomatoes. A tip, I try to make my own greeting cards but when I’m in a hurry I go to Dollar Tree. They have very nice cards for a 1.25. No kidding, check it out. Good luck with your garden. Bonnie
Wow..theres some strange comments on here..😂 people justifying why they have this' n ' that..Aint nobody asking anyone to do that..nor to do what she does.Shes sharing what works for HER. If this type of content doesnt align with your values- take what positives you can & move on 😊
I love this gardening video Laura! I’m encouraged to start my own garden as well. Thanks for sharing! Your hubby did a great job on the raised garden beds for your plants.
Your little rogue white flower although I'm no expert looks like an impatient to me and they don't really like the Sun so you might want to dig it up put it in its own pot put it in a little shaded area
I have tons of dvd I want to get rid of. I think I will sell them for 3-5 each in a yard sale. The vhs tapes I will sell for a 1 since I know some people still have vhs recorder.
Some of the comments here are very strange. I enjoyed your video. I took from this that I need to decide what’s really important to me and not what I’m told I’m supposed to buy or enjoy. I think we could all benefit from being a bit more mindful and not rushing out to buy the latest Stanley cup or Trader Joe’s mini tote etc
