How much would driving hard ahead with the engine relieve anchor cable tension?
@gregfawcett5152
@gregfawcett5152 Год назад
looks like no protection from the wind but good protection from the waves. Don't like the fact that if you drag your boat ends up on the rocks.

Impressive. That anchor chain is super tight! Any particular reason for not using a snubber?

My question as well. I specifically looked up Peter Smith to see what kind of snubber he used...

Anchor chain looks solid, I imagine a sizable anchor at the end of that...

Sir, I had the great pleasure of watching this video and reading your adventures and exploration of Antarctica. The descriptions of the places you visited, the difficult anchorages and weather are well conveyed through your writing and photographs. Thank you for not being a foul mouthed, arrogant and over confident braggart as most low-latitude sailors are. "Bahama sailors"

The anchors are pulled with the same force, which better simulates the real world situation of a drifting boat. The anchor which does not resist the force as well as the other obviously ends up moves faster.
