Wow this is so coool I’ve never thought of using air bearing as source of pressure. Did you designed it yourself? Only idea I can come up with was something alike power drawbar conversion. So cool that you made atc spindle solely with tolerance and good design without relying on something already available.
@@cncdigitalCNCMachines Sorry this was comment for another video. That was of diy atc spindle and not about lathe… I enjoyed watching lathe drawbar “hydraulic” actuator working in real life. Sorry for my stupid mistake…
I have this machine but it is a pneumatic system of open and close chuk and it is on patrone >Do you know where to by head like yours on hidraulic to change on machine bicouse pneumatic is not holding too well..
Great job 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. I have two of this machines and have done some service on them especially on the turret. In my opinion the biggest disadvantage of this type is the turret. It gets loosen and a backlash accures on turret after a while. I replaced some parts of the turret positioning mechanism but after few months, again the baklash accured.
