@@DarrelllCampbelll It definitely makes it quite a bit easier. AMSOIL does have the squeeze pouches for some of their oils, although in a tight space like this or my wife’s half ton truck I still like using the pump with the bottle. AMSOIL sells these pumps also, they come with a tube for the quarts or a tube for the gallon jugs.
If you're in the rust belt then using a 1/2" square is a bad idea, especially avoid using an impact with it. Use an actual 13mm square socket to avoid deforming the plug. Loosen it by hand.
And with being able to order sockets from Amazon, should be easier to find the tools that are a better exact fit. I had to replace the drain and fill plugs on my F350 transfer case a few years ago because they’re a 10mm allen and a previous person probably used a 3/8” and rounded them out.
If it has emissions equipment on it and it is a diesel then no, this oil is for diesel engines that are 2006 and earlier. There is the Signature Series diesel oils though. I use the 5w-40 Signature Series in my wife’s 2017 Ecodiesel.
It may be quicker not to unbolt the diff, but you really oughta. It is good to clear out those shavings from the magnet and to replace the seal; those seals don't last forever
Great video! Just priced brakes for mine and as I like to do things on my own when I can your video is by far the best I have seen. Thank you for being so detailed!
Why is there a pentagram on the Subaru Rear Differential? Why is someone sniffing a runny nose while filming? Why is this friend's bolts so easy to undo but mine are impossibly seized?
What was the distilled water for? You said you would mix it, but then it looked as if you filled it up with the concentrate. Did you skip the mixing in the video?
This one does. Here is a link for the cooler lines routing. www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=www.ford-trucks.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid%3D127547%26stc%3D1%26d%3D1446991526&imgrefurl=www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1405575-manual-transmission-cooler-lines-99-f350.html&tbnid=BLEtNhXpiS60QM&vet=1&docid=KwmYS2i0Ni3s2M&w=511&h=331&hl=en-us&source=sh/x/im
@@cavemanjoe79 thats just werid lol i have a 2000 5 speed it doesnt have one but im guessing the 6 speed does but konda makes sense with the atf inside instead of 80w-90
Been keepin bike on tender and it still shoots a low voltage code from start but will kick over still and I replaced battery and now just ordered regulator to try to see if thats issue or could maybe be stator?
Hopefully it's just a bad regulator. When I changed mine voltage was fluctuating pretty bad. And I just had to get a new battery yesterday for mine, started right up. I'm also thinking about picking up a little can of copper coat for the battery terminations.
I used Amsoil's synthetic 75w-90 severe gear oil. I believe most manufacturers don't recommend a synthetic for the front differential as there isn't as much use on those unless one is using four wheel drive a lot. Even my F 350 owners manual states that synthetic gear oil is required in the rear axle.
It looked like gear oil that came out. What was factory fill? I don't think ATF.....I have client with bad 1-2 synchro so trying to spec best oil bandaid before removing the thing for rebuild.
The factory fill according to Ford is Mercon V atf, and a few years ago I looked it up on ZF's website and even they recommend a synthetic atf. During the time I filmed this I was using synchromesh fluid.
Were would, I get a transmission pto transmission oil cooler? I have 2001 f550 7.3 6 speed manual. Hauling super heavy weight on 30 ft gooseneck triple axle trailer!
Fast coolers for com has either a single or dual pto cooler setup. It will add up to an extra quart of oil on the ZF6 transmission, so you might keep that in mind when installing.
I believe the change intervals are 60,000 miles for normal use and 30,000 miles of you do a lot of towing. Unfortunately I don't know what a R51 is. Is that a model in your part of the world? The only two names I know that Nissan used for this truck is the Frontier (North America) and the Navarra( Europe). I do know this is the same transmission used in the Nissan XTerra model here in the U.S.
@@cavemanjoe79 R51 is nissan pathfinder what is almost same like d40 navara or frontier. But as i know pathfinder is same name in europe or north america. And cars are really same. Same engines only one is suv and second is pickup
Is it possible to refill using gravity instead of a pump. I just ordered 5 qts of the Nissan 75w-85 GL-4 oil for my 2012 Frontier. Not sure about a pump to go with Nissan bottles. Only shopping around here is on line. Thank you for this excellent video!
I have seen it done using gravity. I believe you can run a length of time from the full plug to probably the engine bay to a funnel. Or if you can remove the shifter from inside the cab you could probably pour in the fluid that way.

I found a 14mm hex key at AutoZone. But it only fits a 1/2-inch ratchet. It does have a lifetime warranty though. I don't know if other auto parts stores or Home depot or Menards or other hardware store carries it.
And I don't think you did anything wrong when changing the fluid. Just try to make sure you're vehicle is as level as possible, and it's possible someone may have overfilled the differential before.
