In 1997 I was 5 years young, excited to go to school at Toyon Elementary in Alum Rock Hills of San Jose California. I cherished those childhood memories. Toyon was across from Penitencia Creek where my brother, his friends and I would run to after school to go swimming in the creek. We would swing off the ropes, find cool bugs and have the best time. I was always going on little adventures outside to see what stories I could bring back to my little books I wrote. We would get to illustrate them at school in the Book Publishing Room. Our inner children are reconnecting with these amazing childhood memories. 🥹
Those 90s TV American cities are so dreamlike that I wonder if they actually exist in real life. When I was a kid, my greatest wish was to live in those beautiful and wholesome neighborhoods.
The easiest way i can describe what being a kid in the 90's was like would be to simply say we were the genuinely last generation of kids to not grow up completely dependent on technology. Yes computers were around ofcourse but not alot of familes had them tbh. The world felt like a bigger place because we werent as connected with everyone and everything yet.
What a beautiful nostalgic playlist. I was born in 1990 and been enjoyed the era completely. No cell phone, woke up on sunday morning waiting for the cartoons, went out almost every evening to ride a bike together with my friends, pretend cooking like I'm a chef, went to sleep at 8pm, reading comics. So many precious moments that happened before cell phone. I'm so thankful I could experience all of those. Now I'm 34 and thinking all about the bills lol.

Sometimes I wonder if I was just looking at it through rose coloured glasses but I remember the world was so beautiful in the 90s. There were so many things for children to enjoy… all the toys, movies, music and shows. Plus all the friends you can easily make just by hanging around outside your house. Lols. The entire gen z pop just *CANNOT* relate to a more nostalgic, yet simplified times, when we spent all of our childhood, watching family-themed movies, playing outdoors, talking to each other face to face or over a landline phone, absolutely *NO INTERNET* at that time and when *NO KID* ever owned any technology, other than a video game console or a Game Boy. Life was just *SO PERFECT* at the time!
Dude its incredible how well you just NAIL EVERY SINGLE ASPECT. I think only thing that was missing was a ton of those old ass WildTangent games that used to come on HP Pavillion PCs from Best Buy.
In a corner of some parallel universe it will always be Circa 2002 with commercial high-speed internet plans becoming more available, moving into the next generation of Windows OS,and. The internet landscape was still a relatively simple place,there was only so much you could do for work/play,was actually possible to run out of things to do and log off for the rest of the day. We were still a few years away before the social media/smartphone revolution changed everything!

I admire the effort that went into this video. Although this is primarily just something I leave playing in the background, glancing at the computer monitor in this video from time to time and seeing something different running is a nice touch.
