I can not thank you enough for this all the other tutorials are confusing but I knew what you where saying and I am just soo thankful I’m subbing and liking thank you
Funny thing. Until last year, I never knew you could fish with artificial lures and a bobber. For over 60 years, I thought you could only use live bait with a float. I do have some floats, and for the past year I have tried from time to time with various artificial lures, but with very limited success. They just won't hit my spinnerbait. (Just kidding about the spinnerbait, but not the 60 years. I do use soft plastics and jigs as well.) I really haven't caught too many fish with that method, but I do give it a go from time to time. Planning on using that technique some next week. By the way, what are the directions to that pond again? 😁 Cheers Ramon! Thanks for taking the time to edit and share this one. It gives me hope in the technique.
I caught a channel cat about that size out of a creek. Lil fella stuck me in my thumb trying to get him off my hook. They have extra sharp barbs when they r that small
I have some questions-- is the rod ready to go after putting a new line on it? i have seen videos where to retrain the memory of the line theyll put it in lukewarm water for 10 mins... I have the exact same rod, do you recommend i bump up to 15ppund test line? I want more than 8 ppounds
Hey there! Technically your rod is ready to go once you put new line on it. That's usually how I run it. You can put it in lukewarm water, only takes about 30 seconds to a minute to be honest. I've only done it on a reel that already had line on it when I bought it. You can definitely bump up to 15lb test, but only if you really need it. 8lb is a good all around strength line for most freshwater fishing applications. If you're going after big big stuff or things with a lot of cover, you could bump up to 15lb test.
@@RamonOutdoors bass mostly! I’m new to this and wonder how much the spool on here can take along with even going mono v braided? Like if a line is 15 pound tested does it matter if it’s braided or not
@@RamonOutdoors or even put a 20 pound liter to a 15 pound line test? Any pros/cons to that- I want to be able to catch 15-18 pounds essentially if coming across one
