Hey guys, Tony here. I created For The Corps because I wanted to create a resource that I wish I had when I joined the Marine Corps, as well as when I left the Military. On this channel I'll give basic advice to those looking to join, as well as, focus my efforts to those transitioning out!

I was an Active Duty Marine from 2010-2014 as a Motor T Operator and deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. I left the Marine Corps as a Sergeant and loved every bit of my time in.

I have helped dozens of friends who I served with and many other Veterans I have met along the way with their VA Disability Claims. I also worked with two large independent companies that worked directly with getting Veterans the VA Disability Ratings they deserved. If you're looking for advice or information, you've come to the right place!

I look forward to getting to know you and remember don't ever hesitate to reach out!

If you're going to join the Marine Corps, do it for the right reasons and be sure that's what you want to do. And be sure you get your guaranteed MOS before you sign the final contract

Hey Devil….. If you were 80%(78 rounded up) and had put in an additional claim for secondary’s and got service connected for a few and denied on a few…. And reduced on an increase for Lumbosacral strain, compressed discs with degenerative arthritis that has gotten worse not better (from 40% to 20%), while getting upgraded to 90% (87)… Depression was given a 50%, even with suicidal thoughts…Should I request a higher level review… on those two or let it go? Sorry, to ask, but I’m conflicted. I’m grateful to the VA for the help and confirmation…. But feel the 50 should be a 70 and the 20 should be at least what it was at 40%. Curious if you would just let it go, or request the Higher Review?

I have eczema it’s a very light case no itchiness or anything. But would the marines give a waiver for something like that? Or would that completely disqualify me?

yes you can go military police and no better branch to do that than marines
@gavinc1539
@gavinc1539 26 дней назад
I want to do the same and I’m 16, but from what I’ve heard, do NOT go military police. Unless you get lucky with which unit you go to you will basically be a glorified security gate guard and working 60-80 hours a week. And I’ve also done research on military experience in police hiring, and none of them care what your job was, they just like the experience and leadership qualities that vets have.

It’s worth it. You get a bunk and three meals a day and you a place to sleep and get to travel and shoot a rifle. Maybe you’ll get a chance to ride in one of the big boats. But last of all you get to meet crazy people just like you. And it’s legal being nuts in the Marine Corps.

Great vid for a young guy thinking they can be a Marine. My experience in 1968, the USMC was different than now. My boot was 8 weeks and no crucible. The crotch (USMC) sort of threw us to the dogs. A couple of points you made are very important. It's not for everybody. Boot camp will beat you senseless (I told myself "They can't eat me") You'll despise your DI's until you graduate. Let them scream at you, just do what they say very quickly. You'll miss the DI's when you leave boot camp. Know for certain in boot camp you are not a Marine. At graduation and you receive your EGA, (Eagle Globe Anchor) you are a Marine. Things change then by other Marines having more respect for you. You are officially one of the devil dawgs. You passed the test and are part of the family. The USMC is a very special group of people. Feels good to be special. Best thing I have done for myself and my country. One of the few things I remember to this day is my USMC service number.

Im currently 16, and for the past 8 months ive really thought about joining the marines. Ive never told anyone about it before because i know my parents wouldnt want me too because my mother tried to join but couldnt so she dosnt like them. At first when i thought about it, i thought id forget about it within a few weeks but 8 mounths later its still on my mind full time every day. Frankly im not sure if im just lost and just looking for something to stick onto but ive really had it in my mind that id love to be a marine. I know its probably the hardest thing id ever do and its not an easy life style. But at my current job i think that everything in life is not gonna be easy and if im gonna enbrace the suck why not makeit something i wanna do. Again ive never told anyone about this. And maybe im just commenting this out because i felt like getting it off my chest. I stumbled on this video and i feel how he said it was like for him. When he knew his parents didnt approve of it and he wasnt sure about himself either.

I’m a gulf war veteran. For the last year I’ve been SC 10% tinnitus & 10% migraines. Today I found out I’ve been granted 70% PTSD & 50% sleep apnea. Combined rating 90%!!!!🎉🎉 happiest day of my life don’t give up fellow veterans.

I have a question and if anyone can give me advise Id appreciate it. The VA through Optum Serve is sending me for a 2nd Vertigo C & P test/exam in a few weeks. The test theyre sending me to is a MRG exam place . Does anyone know what this entails ? I think an MRG is similar to an MRI but Im not sure.

I’m struggling on picking. I have the opportunity to own my dads business with my brother in 5 years. I’ve wanted to be a marine since I was a little kid. I’m 19 now and came to the realization I can do it now. Some days I wanna join and some days it hits me that I like the life I’m living right now, but I’d say 6/10 times I’m thinking I could be a marine and then beg out then go to school to take over the business. I’ve made myself a pros and cons list and I just don’t know what to do. Do you/anybody have any tips on how you came to the realization or mindset you were just gonna join up?

For anyone who was a young, dumb, and goofy kid like I was. Really think long and hard about joining. It's a business and YOU are the product. The leadership run it like a corporation. Take it from a Sgt that just left the Infantry. It's NOT what you think it is. Just like a corporation, the Marines is all about cutting cost and that even means your living standards. Down to the water you shower in and the roaches you live with. I wish I could convey to you how serious I am when I say that it's a full on money making scheme off the backs of us. Corporations upcharging the military hundreds of dollars for basic utilities while you're eating undercooked dogs!it at the chow hall. While your naming the roaches on the wall in your room, there's a rich old general cutting deals and making money off of you.
