Welcome to our channel, follow along as we enjoy life mainly in the UK 🇬🇧 and Thailand 🇹🇭 .. There will be trips out and house updates from our home in Thailand, there will also be the odd hotel review (From Thailand and the UK).. I will also add in some car stuff as I’m a massive car fan, I currently own a Mitsubishi Evolution 7 which I enjoy modifying and taking to shows.
Thanks for this wonderful episode about this particular hotel! My family and I just stayed at the Pullman (we’ve stayed there since the days when it was called Hotel Sofitel), but have also enjoyed staying at neighboring Kosa Hotel and the Charoen Thani throughout the past 20 years. I’ve been wondering about the Ad Lib Hotel throughout the past couple of trips to Khon Kaen. The views, as your awesome video demonstrates, are truly magnificent. I’ll definitely stay here with my family within the next couple of years upon one of our return trips. I remember the Ad Lib building when it was an unfinished building for approximately 15 years. I’m so happy that it’s looking as sharp as it is as it greatly enhances Khon Kaens skyline. In the early 2000’s, I remember when the Pullman/Hotel Sofitel used to be the tallest building in that particular area of the city.
@@scottDchicago hey, no problem at all, we’re glad it’s given you an insight into what it’s like.. Like you we’ve stayed in all the big hotels in Khon Kaen over the years, but we really enjoyed our stay at the Ad Lib this year. The room was really good, we’d definitely recommend going for an executive suite!
Nice tour of your lovely home, thank you. Totally agree we should have the 'bum gun' in the UK but they are illegal for any plumber to install and anyone found doing so face a hefty fine...the reason behind it is the minuscule chance of fecal matter entering the drinking water supply through the nozzle and pipework. Madness tbh but that's why we don't have them.

That might’ve been the same dragonfly I saw under the car port yesterday evening when I was watering the pot plants. Lovely looking creatures but the big ones don’t half make a racket when their wings are going!
@@markcullen476 yes possibly bro, it was pretty tired from trying to escape the conservatory.. I’ve never seen one that colour before, I usually see the blue and green ones.
@@kellywalker4494 thanks very much, but it’s actually tiles that look like wood. We wanted it to look like wood outside, but be more harder wearing.. Those tiles were the best we saw on sale at the time of building.
Are your bathroom floor tiles non-slip? We spent a long time picking “sandstone” type floor tiling to increase grip. Slippery floors are an issue for most houses Sofa - ours is same company but has an additional L at the end
@@omgitsabloodyandroid5161 Hi.. yes they’re non slip in both shower rooms, we got them from Global House, no way would I be able to stay upright on normal tiles haha.. Oh ok, we were limited on space regarding the sofa as we didn’t want to take up too much space in the bedroom with it. But I reckon when we get one for the lounge it’ll probably be a L shaped one.
@@KAndJsLifeAdventures Global House too. What a surprise eh! The L shaped sofa has a pull out for 2 beers on each arm and a USB charger built in. Quite useful
@@omgitsabloodyandroid5161 Ha! Yes Global House is a great store. Ours can only hold one beer in each arm, plus there’s no usb.. But I’ll definitely go for the usb with the lounge sofa.
I’m happy you put him back instead of killing it! I hate when people kill house geckos instead of letting them go there not even that aggressive but of course they will bite a bit but no need to kill them! That little guy will grow its tail in a few months.

Hi there, it’s a recirculating hood with a couple of filters (that are cleanable) on the underside.. We got it from Global house in Nong Bua Lamphu, it was on offer at 9000tb but that was about 18 months ago.
The house is looking good. It reminds us of our build just a year ago now, the place was empty, then the furniture was planned and bought and it really started to feel like home. I know that dialect too :) not far from my old grounds and school days, we sold up 2 years ago and now live here in Thailand full-time.

We took our time to make the move and build as painlessly as possible too. I was on the other side of Norwich in the heart of North Norfolk, so the accent was unmistakable. However, I managed not to acquire it, but it is so nice to hear it, so far from home. :)
@@markkiley9382 it’s took a year to get to the point where we are at the moment, we only moved into it in April last year.. The building of it took around 4 months. I don’t think I could hide my accent even if I tried 😁👍
Oh how wrong you are, fyi we’ve been married over 17 years.. My wife was gifted the land by her father.. This is our second home, somewhere to come and get away from our jobs in the UK.. Please don’t assume all stories are the same.

the bluecover on the hood is only for manufacturing purpose to protect the metal not getting scratches, it is meant to take off when installed at the place,(you did right when removing)
Yes it seems to be a thing here, where people leave plastic coverings and stickers on things.. I always want to pull them off to make it look cleaner/better
Get a TV stand instead of wall hanging. It`s also easier to trouble shoot the TV if it`s on a stand, in my opinion. Then you have extra storage below. Is the home already wired for the AC units? I did not see any wires coming out of the walls.
Yes, we may well get a stand, it’ll just depend on what’s available and how big a sofa we get (We don’t want to make it too narrow). And you’re correct there’s no wires in place for AC units in the lounge, this is an oversight which we will find a solution for when the time comes for AC.
Thanks for the heads up, the guys that done the gates put a large metal support in the ground before we had the concrete laid, it also has 2 small supports that it slides into when closing.. They’ve been ok for nearly 2 years, but I will keep an eye on them now, thanks 🙏
Hi there, she did have some other cabinets around that size, but the ones we got were the only two she had that matched.. It was around two weeks ago though, so maybe she’s got more in stock. I will just add we saw some very similar in Global House in Khon Kaen, but we didn’t buy them as there wasn’t enough space in the car.
