Wheels are American racing ar172. Front tires are just 16-in all seasons and rears are Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S 295/65R15 with a -19mm offset which is way more than needed but the only offset I could find in that wheel size at the time! Running 15s in the rear with 1320 wheels brake conversion!
That was some great carnage!!! Sorry for your loss. I am doing a Ls3/6L89E swap in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. It's a project with my grandkids. I just finished the block. Now I am working on the heads and stand alone harness.
Brother, there is valve market on all of the pistons. Was there a valve to piston clearance issue? It's slight but it's there. Those don't look like valve relief pistons. May want to make sure no valves arr bent.
Very observant of you, I bought this 6.0 from a guy that put the cam gear on wrong then wondered why it wouldn't start lol. I put new heads on it and it ran fine but I do wonder if when the valves jammed into the pistons maybe it hairline cracked that piston that let go, otherwise fuel and tune seem spot on! But I'm redoing my fuel system now because I've outgrown the one in it
@bowtieenthusiast6672 Sweet!!! Yea, a crack seems likely and I bet that's what caused the pistons to check out so easily. Yea you were BEATIN THE BRAKES OFF THAT PIG!!!! ROFLMFAO!!! But if the tune was good, it shouldn't have let go so easily.
It's mine lol, nothing to be ashamed of those new Z06's are awesome they sound so good! It's a lame excuse but if the battery was charged it would've been a different story above 30 lol
Nice! I bought my 05 back in 2019 for 9k. I've upgraded the transmission to a stage 2 rated for 1000 hp, full exhaust, stage 3 btr cam, ls3 top end, and e85, and tune and she rips! I had to put 335 tires on the rear because traction left the building. New sub.
@@shawnsummers4569 that was actually because i brake boosted it for some reason, just flooring it is much better theres hardly any lag anyways. it cooks my buddies x3rr
So i actually ended up getting an RPM transmission for this car and they claim it’s good for 800whp, they make even higher “stage” trans’s though if you plan on making more. In my opinion the 4 speed gets better the more power you are making. Since the gear ratio is naturally more spread out in a 4 speed you are going to use more of the rev range than just the power band, but a high stall converter can help to keep it up there
Thanks! Lots of hate on the 05 but seems like only from those that don’t have one lol, it has its quirks for sure but I love it. Got the next vid processing right now!
This was a 76 front housing can’t remember what the exhaust housing was but it spooled real fast just didn’t make good power in the upper RPM’s, still plenty for a good burnout tho. That was on a 6.0 I think it would be even better on a 4.8/5.3
Stock bottom end 6.0 LQ9 with milled heads and Texas speed dumpster fire cam and spring kit, caged roller trunion upgrade with stock rockers, ls7 lifters and tsp pushrods. Head studs and the turbo was the one that comes with the eBay/amazon Silverado/Sierra turbo kit! It actually made good power quick down low but fell off alot up top
Yes stock iron block this was only around 10psi they can handle a lot more but I had a fueling issue and kicked a rod, rebuilding it now with another cast 6.0. And trans is a 4l80 built locally was told it’ll handle 1200 crank HP
life got hectic but its in the works! I've got a motor on the stand ready to swap everything over, just need to get going on it! really want to start posting again thanks for the comment I'm gonna get on it!
