It’s the best sound ever !! Good old Larry and Big John, I thank of him every time I start up my 1956 model 70 diesel . Thanks for putting all this together
moi je viens de France et chez nous un agriculteur a en moyenne entre 80 et 180 hectares et le plus puissant tracteur a entre 140 et 230 chevaux et chez vous?
Nice. Please leave more. I use to farm between Oronoco and mazeppa. Where are you at. (My farm is much hillier) Had a JD 400 without a cab and a IH 710 ASR plow. Just put the snowmobile suit on and go. Please post more and longer if you can. Thanks, Bill
I remember in November of 1959 Hoyt E Whalen John Deere delivered our 730's new brother a 830 Diesel electric start (Ypsilanti,Mich), it was bigger than life! Our neighbor from the next farm was blown away when my dad told him we were going to pull 6-16's in the clay . I was 5 years old then, I am now 57 and remember it like yesterday, what a sound ! It would make the ground shake. We later had the 4020's & 5020's & 6030's.Those really were the the good old days! 730's and 830's FOREVER!
Thats a nice setup.... If you made this video on my farm that tractor wouldnt have a chance pullin that plow in my soil..I an old jd pull type 3- 16 deep till. my ole cat turboed d4c has a real hard time pullin it..in 3rd gear.. mostly if it hits a hard spot it makes the tracks spin..Your ole jd..wouldnt have a chance .Cool video..Good to see i'm not the only one still farmin with antique equipment.
Still putting the power out! And the fuel economy is still hard to beat. Ever imagine what would have been if they had put 2 of these engines together to make a four cylinder? What a power house that would have to be.
He's plowing deep in fairly heavy sod. In soil that had already been in production, a 730 could easily handle 5-16's. In sod like this, and as deep as he is plowing, 4-16's is a good match.
I looked up the the 730 specs and it said they can handle a 5 bottom plow, my neighbor plows every year with his 730 and 5 bottom plow, there one of the toughest..
I have the same disc with cone blades. I pull it with my 68 4020 34 inch rubber with duals like yours. Are you in 3d or 4th? The worst part about that disc is dropping and locking the gangs. Fine outfit for a small farm. Nice video.
