I am absolutely fascinated by the Villa Vie adventure. I have noticed that even though ship although floated hasn’t left the actual dock for testing yet. I hope this doesn’t cause more delays for you. Best of luck. Enjoy your adventure!
@@dlgregory35 they didn't change the sailing date yet, just the boarding date. All the other dates given have not been set in stone...we have been told repeatedly nothing is firm and everything is fluid. We are at the mercy of the inspectors, so hard dates can not be given.
@@MidLifeCruising95 Of course they have been changed a number of times read Due to technical and compliance issues during the drydock, Villa Vie Residences' inaugural cruise was postponed several times - May 15th and May 30th (both out of Southampton), then June 15th, 25th, July 2nd, July 15th, July 20th, July 27th and finally July 30th (from Belfast).
Adventures in Spain! Looks like you guys had so much fun! Neat places to explore! Tomorrow July 30th, is THE big day! Happy cruising! Looking forward to seeing more adventures!
Dear oh dear. Do you really have to bring the Bible into a decision on whether this company and joining this vessel as a passenger is a correct decision? This is not a 'residence' vessel. to retire on. A ship like this with such tiny, tiny cabins, no couch (1 chair), tiny closets is ridiculous.
@@craiglaforest Yes! My patience and positivity is something I draw from my faith. Also, one can book a much larger room if space is something that is important. We are happy that our bedroom has a bed and a bathroom. The ship will be our home with plenty of lounge space. As a retired teacher, I am grateful I can afford to even step foot on this ship, let alone live on it.
@@MidLifeCruising95 I only want to suggest for your sake that you really investigate the financials of this company. I don't want you to lose your savings. Too many companies have proposed residential cruise lines and many have failed. Make certain you understand their balance sheet. Have an expert look at them. Best regards.
Yes. We have just one who is an adult and thriving. We will fly to see the kiddo two times per year, and of course we will be receiving on board visits. We don't have a lot of other family. Both my parents are gone and Steve has his mother still. We are assuming we will do this 3 -4 years, but we really have zero idea how long or short we will want to do this.
Glad to hear you enjoyed C&L. This region is so underrated, but so rich in culture! I like all three cities, but Valladolid in particular. I used to bypass Madrid and use Valladolid as the base at the begin/end of each Spain trip. Took little time with Renfe. Did you go to Jero for tapas?
Steve and Angie, I enjoy watching your videos and immersing myself in the journey. The three places you explored in Spain are stunning and have a rich historical background. Congratulations on reaching 1k subscribers and on the exciting beginning! Question: I heard that the people in Spain are not too happy with tourism. Have you noticed any difference in their attitude?
Congrats on hitting 1k subs! :) I sure hope they make the launch date, but, man, you guys have had such a positive attitude with all these delays! That is so awesome to see! Hopefully(and I am sure it will) that positiveness attitude is still with you 6 months into this voyage, and your not grumbling saying 'this boat stinks, blah, blah, blah'..Instead, I bet you guys will say you're loving it, because you actually do! Lets see what this journey delivers! And by all means have fun doing so! ;)
Thanks so much. It isn't always easy staying positive, but we sure do try. We do wonder how long the euphoria of cruising full time will last. Time will tell...
Our bedroom is the perfect size for us. The ship is our house, and the world is our yard! I would sleep on the floor if it meant I could travel the world. <3
As a Floridian, I say anything after September is pretty safe. (Though still a gamble) We will just divert if need be...fingers crossed. Side note, we will jump off a couple weeks during that time to visit family...no big boat rocking for us!
This video gave me a great idea for a lesson. I use a non-fiction text on the leaning tower of Pisa. I’m going to use this video with the article when I teach it this year! I’m looking forward to all your future videos! Thanks a bunch for sharing your journey 😊
Glad to hear the villa vie is sailing soon. The first stop, Faroe Islands, sounds super cool! This corner of the world, including the Orkney (which you also went to) and the Shetland, is awkward to reach otherwise. Cruise ships are at their best!
We were there in 2019 on an NCL cruise. We went to see the Schwerin castle and then walked around the port town. We had the most incredible German dinner!!!
We did...very last minute. Not a gamble I would take if pre-planning for a cruise, but we had to jump last minute and it worked out. Still can't believe we booked and embarked in less than 24 hours
6:30 At the open market in Cannes, France, did you see any tropical fruits there like durian, mangosteen anything like that? Thanks for updating the Villa Vie Cruise.
You 2 seem to be keeping a positive attitude! It's out of your control so you might as well roll with it. Enjoy the vlogs! Look forward to when you finally board the Villa Vie!
While waiting for the Odyessa enjoy your fantastic side trips. I spent many years working as a medical officer for various cruise lines. Barcelona was my last home port. I hope you had a chance to see some of that city. Last summer I lived in the south of France and know Cannes well. When you make your home on a ship you need to roll with unexpected changes. Now I am retired and enjoy my new home in France and taking cruises as a passenger. Good for you both for staying upbeat!
